PRIDE

This page is still under construction, but I want to welcome you to what I hope will be a source of insight from another of my pages, I am heavily involved in my community in a concerted effort to help in the education and support of gays and lesbians. If you would like to go straight to links to other sites and education on the gay and lesbian community. As you may have read that are designed to provide support, education, and information about our community, please click the flag below.

You will find a few of the local sites that I work with below as well. You may also click on the title within the explanation paragraph to go to that site immediately.

There are several projects in the works or that are already active in which I am involved at this time. I focus a great deal of my energies into the local organizations of Waco and Killeen/Temple at the moment, as that is where I live. There are organizations that are oriented around the youth as well and for those adults that are Family or Friends of gays and lesbians. Education is the key to solving ignorance and that is our ultimate goal that rests hand in hand with awareness of affecting issues. Below, you will find a short section listing the purpose of each of these local organizations. If you wish to visit any of these sites for more information, please feel free to do so at anytime.

PFLAG is one of the largest organizations that is dedicated to educating and supporting those who are Parents, Friends, and Family of gays and lesbians. It has been a resource to many and a well of information to those who were previously unaware of the false stereotypes and ignorance concerning our community. The PFLAG in Wacois headed by Valerie Fallis. This chapter has been up a running for sometime and holds meetings monthly. For more information, you may click on the site to go there now. There is also a chapter of PFLAG in Killeen/Temple that is in the works now. We hope to be operational by January 1, 1998. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, you may contact me by email.

There is also a youth organization that works with the Waco chapter of PFLAG. This is a peer discussion and educational group that is oriented towards teens and young adults through the age of 25. Project Outreach is designed to work with students and young adults that are looking for more information on gay and lesbian issues and desire help in facing society as a whole.

A new chapter has opened up here in Killeen. It is our intention to service the Bell County area. Our first meeting will be held on May 9th, 1998 at Krosovers. We will have a guest speaker from Seattle, WA. The function will begin at 5:00 pm. All are welcome! For more information, contact me at 254-616-5932 or email me at Belgarion@vvm.com.
