Clann MACPHAIL

The son of "Paul" in Gaelic, this name can be found in various forms: MacVail, MacFaul, MacPhiel, and Polson.  It is a branch of the MacKays, tracing their originator back to the son of Neil MacNeil MacKay, in he early 15th century.  The name was common in the area around Ardchattan and Glenlyon.
