Hunters
(Season 1, Episode 22) Flashback: Italy, 1639 |
Florence, Italy, 1639. Duncan MacLeod
and Hugh Fitzcairn are a duke's bodyguards.
In the present, Fitz arrives in Paris to warn MacLeod that some of their Immortal friends are vanishing under mysterious circumstances. They find Darius dead in his church, on holy ground. Fitz is kidnapped. Mac realizes a group of mortals are hunting Immortals to eliminate them. MacLeod finds a Chronicle Darius left hidden in his church, and learns of a secret order that observes Immortals. The renegade Watchers are found in time to save Fitz, however their leader escapes. |
Star-Crossed
(Season 3, Episode 15) Flashback: Italy, 1637 |
Verona, Italy, 1637. MacLeod meets Immortal
Hugh Fitzcairn. MacLeod works for the prince, protecting his beautiful
and supposedly virtuous daughter, Arianna. It seems, however, that MacLeod's
martial skills are no match for Fitz's amorous ones. The prince demands
Fitzcairn's head, but MacLeod demands his right to retribution and "kills"
Fitz with his sword, thus saving his life. The two become friends for life.
In the present, Fitz picks up his old friend MacLeod at the airport. Fitz has found true love with the beautiful Naomi, and he's teaching at the Cordon Bleu. When Naomi's jealous ex-lover is found dead next to a computer that's displaying Fitz's falsified credentials, the innocent Fitz goes on the run. |

(Season 4, Episode 20) Flashback: France, 1696, 1796 |
Chateau de Valicourt, 1696. MacLeod and Fitz vie for the hand of the beautiful Gina. To test her suitors, she enlists their help in recovering stolen gold from Robert, Baron de Valicourt. instead of recovering the gold, however, Gina loses her heart to the daring Baron and they are married. Every century the lovers renew their vows before friends and fellow Immortal. |
Stone of Scone
(Season 5, Episode 15) Flashback: London, 1720, 1950 |
London, 1720. MacLeod is trying to steal
the legendary throne of Scotland, the Stone of Scone from Westminster Abbey
for the Scots, at the same time that Fitz is trying to blow up the Abbey
and King George, for the Catholics. Fitz and MacLeod debate who has the
more valid case and finally decide to fight a duel on the field of honor;
a golf course, to see whose plan they will attempt together. Unknow to
MacLeod, Fitz cheats.
In 1950, he finally discoveres Fitz's trickery. Amanda believes the Stone to be a priceless gem and wants to steal it, fence it, and pay off her gambling debts. Fitzcairn wants to make up for his past deceit to MacLeod, and MacLeod wants the Stone returned to the Scots. The three of them break into the Abbey on Christmas. Amanda is dismayed to discover they've stolen a hunk of worthless rock. She's arrested by Scotland Yard for treason and makes a deal, turning over Fitz, who's arrested. MacLeod manages to get a pardon from Sir Winston Churchill and returns the Stone to the Abbey. In the end, all three of them return to the golf course... |
Unusual Suspects
(Season 6, Episode 7) Flashback: England, 1929 |
England, October 1929. MacLeod arrives at Fitzcairn Manor, North Tidworth, to attend Fitz's funeral. As he stands with the mourners, he realizes that the dearly departed is hiding in the greenhouse, witnessing his own funeral. Fitz tells Mac that he "died" of a heart attack. Fitz was murdered and it's not a good time to be dead. The now rich Fitz has sunk everything he owns into American stocks for his return-from-the-dead-fund, however he's behind on his paperwork. This means there is no new name to inherit the money; and he's broke. He asks MacLeod to find his killer and protect his grieving widow, Juliette. The plot thickens... there are more murders. It's finally discovered that Fitz's widow is the killer. Unfortunately for Fitz, the stock market has crashed and he's bankrupt. |
To Be
(Season 6, Episode 12) |
London 1946. MacLeod stops Irish Terrorist
Immortal Liam O'Rourke from escaping after a bomb he planted in a pub explodes.
Afterr serving "life" in prison, he kidnaps both Amanda and Joe. Mac vows
that no one else will die because they care about him. He finds O'Rourke
and bests him, however he learns that Amanda & Joe will die unless
he gives his life for theirs. Methos arrives in a blaze of gunfire and
O'Rourke guns down MacLeod.
He awakens to find Fitz, who tells MacLeod that he's an angel and he's there to help him. Fitz takes MacLeod on a journey to show him a world where there has never been, never will be a Duncan MacLeod. Amanda is a black widow who murders her husbands for their money. Joe is a wheelchair-bound alcoholic, playing his guitar on the streets for pocket change. |
Not To Be
(Season 6, Episode 13) |
Fitz continues to show MacLeod a world
where there's never been a Duncan MacLeod. Mac's overjoyed to learn that
Tessa is alive, has 2 children, and no longer sculpts. Even though Fitz
warns him, he shares a night of passion, however Tessa has only regrets.
In this world, Fitz has been dead for 280 years, some business about blowing up King George going horribly wrong without Mac's interference. Methos & Kronos hook up and the Horsemen ride again, with Richie joining them briefly. Finally, Fitz tells Mac that it's time to go home; there are friends there who need him. |
