~"The Gift"~
Why should He love me ...
So meek and so small;
While He;
My Lord; is so
majestically tall.
Why should He bother ...
To give so much to me.
For not much in return,
Did I ever give He.
He shed His blood on calvary,
And hung upon the cross,
So not one life upon this earth;
Would ever need be lost.
He suffered in the flesh,
For sin;
Was tempted just as man,
Endured more pain
Than most could bear,
With spikes drove in His
hands.
His Father gave His only Son,
So you and I might be;
Still offered one more time,
My
friend;
A life in eternity.
It's walls of
"Jasper,"
It's streets of "Gold,"
No
suffering,
No pain,
No more darkness I'm
told.
No sightless,
No crippled,
No more
hatred we'll see,
We'll all live together,
In
heavens harmony.
The "King of Kings" upon His
throne,
Imagine it ... Brother;
To call that
home!
To walk down those streets,
In God's kingdom above;
The aroma's so sweet,
The
fragrance called "Love."
To see my friend
Jesus,
At last face to face;
To see His warm
smile,
Feel His loving embrace.
To talk and to
tell Him,
How I'd dreamed it might be;
That someday I'd prayed,
My Blessed Saviour, I'd see.
That alone is worth more,
Than all of lifes treasures;
For I know of no
equal,
To which any could measure.
To know you can spend,
All eternity there;
To be blessed by God's angels,
In His tender care.
Think of the victory that you can win;
By opening your heart
To let Jesus come in.
This "gift" of salvation,
Is clad in paper and bow;
And on the tag,
Is a name you well know.
It's wrapped ...
Sealed ...
And signed with love;
A "gift" to you,
From our Lord up above.

Thank You Father;
For Your power to overcome life's overwhelming problems.
What a precious "gift;"
Your love and peace.
It isn't fagile or fluffy or temporary
That which the world gives.
But deep, satisfying, and dependable
Because it comes from You; Almighty God.
