With Pen In Hand Julia Gromley Kopp Krister• 1966
I opened a tiny box today, And found therein, An alabaster lady; Gowned in velvet white, Captured by a jeweler; Mounted on a golden pin, Gazing at the spectacle, Of the twilight night. The man who formed her, Sculptured, marble face, Carved it upon mystery, Dark and celestial; Added poised beauty, With a lady's grace, And mounted her glory, On an onyx pedastal. Don't you honestly think, She breathes at night; And steps down; From her onyx twilight throne, To dance with abandonment; Under stars bright, And can you imagine, Her dancing alone?
She must waltz neath the stars, In her lover's arms, Dipping and swaying; With her own dear Romeo, For he really captured her love, With her charms, The love of his heart's wife,
His beloved Cameo.
