Greetings Shipmates! I am Lt. Oy'NuQ'a tai-QeylIS. Among other
things, I am also, currently, the Chief Communications Officer of the
IKV Harbinger. At this point, I have one and only one announcement.
As in any Klingon ship, all communications having anything to do with
any department of this ship, or this organization, comes through me.
As per orders, from my Captain, as well as our Security Chief and Our
Intelligence Officer, I will scan all communications coming through,
and if they concern the ship, I will make copies of it and place them
in Communications/Records file, so that they may be referred back to
at a future date, if needed. Then, I will forward the originals to
whomever or whatever department they are supposed to go to.
Please direct any friends, to send all personal email, to you,
through another address. The only communications I am interested in,
are the ones concerning this ship and it's crew, and Star Trek
Fandom, (specially KAG). This is a service to our crewmembers, as
well as a referrence method to keep track of shipboard commo. Any
commo concerning you or your actions while aboard this ship, or on a
ship's mission, is the concern of all of us, particularly the
Captain. No member of this crew stands alone. We support each
other. We are a family here.
-Communications Out-
The Communications Officer of any ship, is responsible for all
incoming and outgoing communications, of any kind. The Comm. Chief or
one of his/her subordinates mans the radio at all times, and routes
communications to the appropriate place.
Since we don't have subspace radio in real life, our Comm. Officer
is responsible for collecting and recording and filing copies off all
correspondence, ( snail mail and email if possible ), for future
reference.
In real life, the Communications Officer is similar to the
telephone receptionist at any company.
