The ocean and the vessels that traverse it make for popular subjects. Some shots can be planned, such as the old rowboat and whaler which are fixed in place. Others are spontaneous, such as the fisherman working the reef in Raiateae. If you can envision what sort of image you want to capture before you happen upon it, your success rate will increase substantially. Look in magazines or on line, for new ideas, then set about finding them. If you know what you're looking for, you'll be surprised how often you find it.
