My Thots on......Art, Film, & Movies

I try to never explain what my state of mind is trying to create in my poetry. The reason for this is that like all art I believe that it should be interpeted thru the viewers own experiences and emotional state, that they should relate to it in their own way.

Art: My defintion of Art is anything in which one expresses oneself or one's feelings, opinion or point. There are many ways in which to do this and I believe everyone has the right to free expression thru the means of 'Artistic Expression'. There is much out there that I would not particularly enjoy displaying in my home, but it undeniably falls under the catagory of someone's artistic expression, some that may be considered sick, perverted, or demented...but none the less....expressed.

Movies Vs. Film: My Brother (Jonny Angel) has his own opinion about this subject, and I found it humorous...A movie stars Leonardo DeCaprio....and a Film wouldn't.

Movies-more for entertainment purposes
Film-Artistic Expression

Now, I am not a big Titanic fan (Please don't stop reading becos I mentioned Titanic) but the movie had a couple of scenes in it that deserve honorable mention in the artistic film expression dept(as did the movie "Great Expectations" newest version). When Jack is sketching Rose~~The camera angles and close-ups all very artistic in capturing the moment....the emotion. Also, the love scene, where they're in the car, the fogged windows, her hand hits the glass and slides down>>>>>This is a great and ingenius way to film>>>>>>>>Hitchcock was the master of this form of filming. He made you visually picture in you own mind. He knew he could never get the intense effects on film as your own mind can conjure up. Example~~Psycho - The infamous shower scene. How much blood do you actually see?? How much violence?? And the whole black and white thing going for it too! Hitchcock was an artistic genius in using your own mind to his advantage. Less is more in this case. Do you still have that thot every now and again, when you're home alone showering?? Do you on occasion pull back the shower curtain, just to make sure?? Oh yeah, Hitchcock was good.
Hitchcock's Rebecca....very good film. If you haven't seen it...you should take the time to check it out. Very well done. There is a scene where the room actually feels as if it's spinning (I won't go into any details or that would give too much of the film away...it is a major turning point in the movie.)
