Story of UFO angel
Jacob, responding to a request for reader tales of unexplained experiences, says he has had an encounter with a sort of UFO.
"So far," Jacob writes, "I am the only living person I know who has had such a 'UFO experience' so personally right here in good ol' (California)."
He has memorialized the occasion by creating a miniature hand-knotted oriental carpet with a white light oval medallion in the center. He calls the weaving "UFO Angel."
"As part of a young people's missionary group at the Pismo Beach Clam Festival in February 1972, my partner and I walked along the sandy shore and met two young soldiers (our age) enjoying the celebrations in their small lean-to.
"We had been talking to them about their lives and the Bible when I walked over to the shoreline as the sun was about to set. A meditation came to me that the sun was like Jesus and that we only have so much time to receive the light of the sun (Son) before the darknesss. I prayed that God would help me show His love to those two soldiers.
"Well, just after the sun disappeared below the water, an upright bright white oval light came out from the exact point of sunset, and it flew silently and quickly across the ocean and beach, and hovered over the sand dunes between me and the pier. (The beach was filled with dune buggies, cars and people.)
"Then, a deep voice, not my own natural speaking voice, spoke through me, unexpectedly, to the oval shining light, saying, 'Come to me!' The oval light, as tall as a man, moved along the ridge of the sand dune. I kept turning to face it, until, with my back now to the sea, the oval flew right towards me, and as I leaned slightly backwards in some amazement, it flew right into my eyes!
"My arms raised upward and I began to praise God vocally. I ran over to the soldiers and my friend, excitedly talking to them. I forget exactly what I said, but I know, and I felt then, that the oval white light was an angel.
"Since this amazing experience, I have read that angels travel in light energy circles, or ovals. It has been confirmed to me by religious paintings of the 12th Century in St. Catherine's Monastery in Sinai."
Jacob says other studies* have reinforced his belief. It seems, Jacob says, that no one but him on the crowded beach saw the oval light. (end Part 1)

Jacob writes also about another "special experience," this one out-of-body.
He says it happened on Dec. 27, 1970, after he left work as a psychiatric technician at the Atascadero State Hospital.
"Now please keep in mind," he says, "the atmosphere of the hospital was, for me, very emotional, intense and sometimes frightening.
"When I left work that December afternoon, I was quite physically tense. I stopped at a friend's apartment and found no one home. I decided to do some exercises to relax, but to no avail.
"Then, I just shut my eyes and lay down on the bed flat. Suddenly and peacefully, my body just went limp, very fluidly, and it seemed to flow right into the bed in the most relaxed way. Then I lost touch with the physical presence of my body. But I quickly felt a great peace. I seemed to be surrounded by a spiritual state of consciousness.
"I felt very, very deeply loved by a Presence never felt before or since. I really have no human words to describe the beauty of this feeling. Words such as dynamic, flowing, living, moving, peaceful, etc. come to mind, and the ultimate thought was simply, 'If everyone could experience this, the whole world would be saved!'
"I literally left my old personality behind, trapped in my body, and I became a very new person. I was in a perfect state of love."
While he was in this state, Jacob says, all his "past inhibitions, introversions, extroversions, negative and even positive thoughts and feelings, guilts and sins and even 'good' deeds, all disappeared."
After what he says seemed like an eternity [wonderful], he was returned to his body, "very relaxed and feeling physically very well. I was healed* on the spot." (end of Part 2)
Ed. note: *I had not only been very tense but in quite a lot of physical pain all over my body after work, until this out-of-body event occurred.

You may wonder about my mental health as some have because of my story printed in our local county newspaper, leading one of my relatives to exclaim, "Now we know what happened to you!" However, if it were not for this great Love experience, that really has been the greatest in my whole life, I would not have had as much hope as I have had to continue fighting on through all kinds of struggles. This was a very singular experience that tops all of my experiences in my entire life. The Love that was shown to me and then I showed it right back to the One who gave it to me, was like what Eternity is all about for those who know God through His Son Jesus! It was so amazing because the Love I received made me a part of it, so that I became Love with that Great Love. My automatic response was to give that Love back in return to the One Who loved me. It is really the Joy Unspeakable that Paul wrote about!
