General Information

The Red Deer Royals is truly a band with a difference. Known for quality instruction, variety of repertoire, and originality of presentation, this unique band program trains young instrumentalists in the performance of traditional and contemporary music in concert, parade, and field show settings. The Red Deer Royals provides a dynamic life-skill experience for youth aged 13 through 21 years. Qualified, experienced artistic staff and guest clinicians ensure that this program is the best of its kind.

 The award winning Red Deer Royals have many impressive accomplishments to their credit including two Gold Medal performances at Canada's National Concert Band Festival (1993 & 1995), a Bronze Award in International Field Show Competitions, and national and international tours. In the summer of 1998 the Royals achieved a Silver Medal standing at the World Competition for Marching Show Bands in London England. The Royals were featured in the 1993 Grey Cup celebrations, and have provided ceremonial music for the Canadian Brier, the World Junior Hockey championships, and the Silver Buckle Rodeo.

Touring is an ancillary part of the Red Deer Royals experience. The Royals program provides the opportunity for regional, national, and international touring, which gives the participants an opportunity to develop the skills necessary to meet the challenge of performing in various venues to diverse audiences.
