Hello, welcome to our forum. Until I got online, I thought canning was a lost art. I was very fortunate to meet many people who are learning to can and who have been doing this for years. Without their knowledge and guidance, I would have thrown up my hands in frustration along time ago. Canning is a science and an art. Be sure that you know all the facts. We all suggest that you read everything and then make your own sound judgement when it comes to canning.
In the forum and elsewhere on this website you will find two types of canners - the 'by the book' type of canner and the 'old school' canner. Each one has its merits, and each one on some occasions will disagree. In the forum we do ask that you keep the flames under your canner and not on the message board. One thing that everyone will agree on - If you're not canning, then your talking about canning!
