with the passing of seasons
things change with time
what once was familar
you must now leave behind

regarding the future
you must follow your heart
leaving behind memories
as you make a new start

you was oh so alone
with a heart full of pain
the tears how they fell 
like a slow summer rain

what seems as the purpose
in our crossing paths
to share a few tears
and enjoy a few laughs

think of me sometimes
I'm not far away
I'm one of those memories
you made along the way

the days become much shorter
as each leaf falls into place
winter comes riding like a pale horse
with all its beauty and its grace

the splendor of a wonderland
each day leisurely passing by
like icicles hanging from the eaves
of a cold and bright clear sky

sunshine falls way to darkness
north winds briskly blow
full moon rising high above 
casting shadows on the snow

mother nature slowly dances 
her wand waving with each twirl
laying softly at her footsteps
illussions of diamonds and pearls

wintery scenes from a fairytale
of a time called once upon
the land lays quietly sleeping 
with the breaking of the dawn

As I was going nowhere 
walking in my dreams 
I saw a bright and distant star
and it began to sing

Whispering a familar tune
as I began to hear 
The words I heard somewhere before
that seemed to draw me near

I love you was the song I heard
more and more each day
I miss you was the melody
whenever you're away

To spend more time is my wish
upon this shining star
I have made this wish a thousand times
when we are apart

I will close my eyes and I will find
a star to gaze upon
To keep you here - close at heart
whenever you are gone
