Hi everyone!  This is my first fanfic, so please be kind!  I would appreciate comments a lot!  Please be gentle with criticisms, but definitely tell me if you see any spelling or typing or grammar errors.  They'd probably be typing errors because I am (usually) excellent at spelling.  Also tell me if there is any part that is unclear, and I'll try to clarify it.  My e-mail address is {TsukiNoKo3@hotmail.com}
Enjoy.

Disclaimers:  Sailor Moon doesn't belong to me, but to Naoko Takeuchi.  But this story does belong to me.  Please don't sue me, besides I don't have anything.

This story is dedicated to Emily, who was the only one who helped soooooooo much in writing this, she'll never know!    Thanks Em!

Little Sister
Part 1
By Marie-chan

Darien and Serena are at a train station, waiting on a bench.  Serena is napping on his
shoulder.  Darien looks at his watch, and says that Ashleigh’s train is late.  Serena stirs, then says,
“So you knew Ashleigh from the orphanage, right?  How long have you known her?”  Darien
says, “Almost all of her life.”  The scene fades to a memory of Darien at the orphanage.  He walks
into the room, where a nun is trying to feed a crying baby.  She sees him enter, then asks if he can
hold the baby for a minute while she goes to do something.  Darien sits down and takes the baby,
and the nun leaves.  The baby stops crying and looks up at him and smiles.  He picks up her bottle
and starts feeding her.  The nun comes back, and sees what has occurred and exclaims that it is a
miracle.  The memory fades, and it's the present again.  Darien says that, after that, he was the
only one who could get her to eat anything or do anything, and he always protected her.  Then the
train rolls up, and slows to a stop.  First a large man gets off the train, then he steps away,
revealing the small, brown haired, browned eyed girl behind him.  She smiles, then sets down her
suitcase and runs to Darien.  He catches her and swings her around in the air.  They exchange
greetings, then Ashleigh turns to Serena and says, “You must be Serena.  Darien’s told me so
much about you in his letters.”  Then she looks strangely at Serena and says, “You look so
familiar. . .but I can't think where I've seen you before. . . maybe it'll come to me later.”  They
take Ashleigh’s suitcase, and put it in the trunk of Darien’s car; they get in and drive away.  In the
car Darien, who is driving very fast (as usual), “I'm really glad you transferred to the city, Ash.
I've missed you.”  Ashleigh says she's missed him, too.  Darien suggests that they drop off her
stuff, then go meet the other girls and see the city.  Ashleigh says that would be great.

The car pulls up at the temple.  The other four girls and Renie run over.  Serena and
Darien get out, then Ashleigh.  As soon as she sees Serena with the others, she recognizes them.
“Oh, I know where I've seen you!  On the news; you're Sailor Moon, aren't you , Serena?  And
Venus, and Jupiter, and Mars, and Mercury,” she says, pointing to each of them in turn.  They
look dumbfounded, mouths hanging open.  Darien smiles nervously.  Raye starts to ask how she
knew, but Darien explains, “Uh...I guess I forgot to mention that.  Ashleigh’s always been able to
do that.  The first time she saw me as Tuxedo Mask on the news, she called me on the phone and
asked why I'd dressed up like that.  Don't worry, she won't tell anyone.”  Lita says worriedly,
“But no one's ever recognized us before.  What if other people can now, too?”  Then Ashleigh
says, “Oh, don't worry.  You all look different to me than when you're the Scouts, it's just that,
when I look at you, I see flashes of how you really look in my head.  I don't know why I didn't
recognize Serena right away.  I think I had to see her with the rest of you.”  Then Renie steps out
and says with a smile, “Hi! I'm Renie.”  Ashleigh smiles back and says hello to her, then kneels
down, so as to be at eye level with Renie.  She slowly puts her finger out, until it's touching
Renie’s forehead.  The crescent moon appears.  Ashleigh says nothing and stands back up.  “And
who's this?” she asks, indicating the Luna Ball.  Renie says that it's her Luna Ball, and it protects
her.  Darien introduces Ashleigh to the other girls, using their real names.  Then Raye invites them
in, where Luna and Artemis are waiting.  Mina tells the cats that Ashleigh knows about them
being Scouts, so Luna and Artemis introduce themselves.  Ashleigh says, “Wow! Talking cats!
Can all cats talk?”  Luna says that not any cats she's met can speak human languages, besides
Artemis, of course.  They all sit down to chat and eat pizza.  Amy asks Raye where Chad and
Grandpa are, and Raye says that she paid Chad to take Grandpa shopping downtown for the day,
and that they'll be back in an hour or two.
Later that night, all the pizza is finally gone, and everyone is tired, so they decide to leave.
Chad has gotten back, and has been talking with Darien for a while, leaving the girls to
themselves.  Darien gets up and tells Serena that he'll drop her, Luna, and Renie off at their house
before taking Ashleigh back to the orphanage.  He turns, to look for Ashleigh and Renie, and
finds them cuddled up together, asleep, with the Luna Ball hovering nearby.  He smiles, and
Serena says they look so cute.  He tells Serena to take Renie, and he picks up Ashleigh; very
easily since she's so small and thin.  They put them with Luna in the back seat, and the Luna Ball
floats in after.

On the UFO, Rubeus is watching Ashleigh and Renie in the back seat of Darien’s car.  He
decides that Ashleigh must know the ‘rabbit’ and she should be destroyed.  He can also sense a
strange energy from her and says, “That's all the more reason to get rid of her!”

Darien’s car pulls up at the orphanage, after dropping Serena off and carrying Renie in for
her.  The car stops, and Darien gets out, then opens the back door and picks Ashleigh up and
carries her in.  He gets in the door, then realizes he forgot her coat, so he sets her down just inside
the door, and goes back out.

Rubeus sees Darien come out, and thinks that means he's leaving.  He waits a few second
to ‘let the girl get farther into the building’, then begins to attack.

Just as Darien reaches his car, suddenly he hears a huge explosion behind him.  He turns, and the
orphanage is missing a huge chunk of the building, and is on fire.  He screams, “No!” , then runs
back.

To be continued.....

Sorry guys, I know that was really short, but the truth is that I already have a lot of this story written, and not very much typed, so I just want to keep ahead so people won't have to harass me later about writing.  I plan on putting up small updates often.  So what did you think?  Did you like it?  Did you hate it?  Please tell me!  (Well, don't tell me you hated it!)  Gotta go!
