This is a very popular "Bird's Beak" Heliconia often used as an ornamental in gardens and around dwellings. Heliconias represent the American version in the banana family Musaceae. The family includes Heliconias, true Bananas (Musa), Bird-of-paradise, and Traveller's Palms.
