Momordica charantia
This is the weedy form of the Balsam Pear and usually
is not consumed. In large quantity either variety is
considered poisonous if taken internally. In Malaysia they
consider this medicinally as a purgative if eaten. Externally
it is used for skin ailments and headaches. This is a common
vine in waste places near sea-level in Hawaii, and is believed
native to Eurasia.
