Surinam Cherry, Pitanga
Eugenia uniflora
A native to Brasil, the Pitanga is one of the sourest fruits I have ever tasted yet I am willing to eat a dozen if the bush presents itself. They grow both wild and cultivated in low-land Hawaii. Genus Eugenia includes Mountain Apple, Jambu, Java Plum and many other delicious fruits found occasionally in Hawaii.
