In 1969. Bobbi and Howard were visiting his parents in California when he was shown a couple of letters I had written his dad Howard told me when his dad got the first letter asking about his family his dad thought, "Oh, we aren't related" and disregarded it. In the second letter, I showed him where we were related so Howard started writing to me. He said all these years they had thought his mother's line was the important one, since they knew nothing about the McKaughan's. In 1987, Howard attended a convention in San Antonio, Texas so came to Kerrville to meet my sister, Alice, and me. He told us a funny story. He said when his daughter started to school, she came home one day very sad. He asked her what was wrong and she said " Today we all had to tell what our daddy did. I had to tell them that you were still in school". I guess to her, he was pretty dumb.

This family lived in Hawaii many years. In 1988, he retired and they moved to Oregon where they and the girls' families had bought an apartment complex for the elderly that Howard and Bobbi now manage. Howard has also been to Asia several times teaching since they moved to the main land. Their children:

6-9 KATE MANEARD McKAUGHAN (twin to Kitty Clyde): born 3 March 1890. Married GEORGE ETHAN CHAPLIN, JR. 24 August 1904, Co;orado City, TX. He, born 8 October 1860, East Bowdoinham, Maine. He, the son of George Ethan Chaplin,Sr. and Edith M, Archibald. As a young man, George. Sr. engaged the Ice Business at Senago Lake, south Portland and East Bowdoinham where he was Superintendent of the Ice Plant. George. Jr. was a carpenter. They moved to Coronaro City, Texas in 1892 to a farm thirty miles south of the city. In 1911. they moved to Baldwin Park. CA. He died 23 December 1923, Durante, California. She died 5 June 1923, Los Angeles County, California, buried at Oakdale Cemetery, Glendora, California. Kate died soon after their tenth child died so are buried together. It is believed that the reason the older children died young was because of contacting "Galloping Cunsumption" from their milk. Since the milk was heated for the younger children, they excaped getting the dasease. The remianing were given to different families to raise so they knew very little about each other. It was quite a job for Mabel to find everyone and gather what information she did for us. Their children:
