The week went fairly quickly for Parker. She worked everyday and every evening, she was at the studio recording and rehearsing. She had a concert in the Wal-Mart parking lot across from Oral Roberts University on Sunday afternoon. It was going to be a fundraiser and she was terribly excited.

She had Friday off this week, so she decided to take advantage of that and use Friday afternoon to rehearse because she wouldn't have time to rehearse on Saturday. She also chose to sleep late on Friday morning. She was planning to sleep until about 10:00 and then spend some time cleaning the apartment. After lunch, she would go to the studio.

Those plans were dashed when she awoke to someone pounding on the door of the apartment at 8:00. She stumbled into the livingroom and looked through the peephole. Luckily, she wore boxer shorts and a t-shirt to bed, because standing outside her door was Jordan and Isaac.

"We've got to talk to you," Jordan said pushing past her and into the room. "Are Zac, Taylor, and Christopher here yet?"

"No," Parker answered uncertainly.

"Well, they'll be here in a few minutes. We'll wait until they get here."

"Anyone want anything to eat or drink?" Parker asked playing the hostess. "I have white grape peach juice and I can toast some bagels."

"That would be great, sweetie," Isaac said giving her a kiss on the cheek. "We haven't eaten anything this morning."

Parker poured juice into a glass pitcher and put some bagels in the toaster. She took out the tubs of cream cheese and butter, as well as a jar of apple jelly and set them on a tray. "Are we going to sit here or in the livingroom?"

"Let's do the livingroom, it's less formal," Jordan said looking at Isaac for approval.

"That sounds fine. I think we'll be more comfortable there."

Parker was so confused. She had no clue as to what was going on, but she went along with it anyway. As soon as she finished toasting the bagels, there was another knock at the door. Parker peeked into the livingroom as Isaac opened the door to reveal Taylor, Zac, and Christopher Sabec, the Hanson's manager. At that point Isaac took over as host. "We have juice and bagels. There is butter, cream cheese, or jelly for toppings." Jordan brought out the tray and everyone had a seat.

After consuming the light breakfast, Christopher got down to business. "Isaac, Taylor, and Zac want to sign you."

Parker looked at Jordan. He looked like the cat who had swallowed the canary. "Sign? What do you mean sign?" Parker was a little hesitant to get too excited. She was afraid that they didn't mean what she thought, or was hoping, they meant.

Jordan almost burst. "Sign, as in a record deal, Park!"

"What?!?!"

Christopher stepped in. "The boys have been working on putting together their own record company and they would like to sign you as their first artist."

Parker's jaw dropped open. She couldn't utter a word.

"Because of the, uh, dating status of you and Isaac, the final decision to do this was made by Taylor and Zac and the negotiations will go primarily through me and Jordan," Christopher continued. "Of course, you and the boys will have the final say."

Jordan turned to Parker. "What do you think? Do you want to do this?"

All Parker could do was nod.

"Well, shall we go start working then, Jay?"

"Sure I know a great little coffee shop down the street were we can get a coke or cappucino or something."

When Christopher reached the door, he turned back to Parker. "We'll be letting you know when we finish the preliminary stuff. It will probably take a few days, but it may not. We'll just have to see. I've asked Jordan to keep you fully informed. Oh, by the way, Isaac, you'll take Taylor and Zac?"

"Yeah, I'll get them home."

Isaac walked Jordan and Christopher to the door and shut it behind them.

"So, what happens now?" Parker asked the three blond headed boys.

Zac beat his brothers to the punch. "Christopher will let Jordan know our offer of a record contract. It basically will include how much we are going to advance you to do each album and how many albums we are committing to help you make. It will also include what we commit to as far as promotions and distributions. Jordan will come to you with our offer. If you agree, we'll sign. If you don't, we are open to negotiations. That doesn't mean that we'll accept what you offer, but we are willing to talk."

"Ok, so what happens if I am not happy with what you offer?"

Zac continued. "You and Jordan will write down the changes that you wish to make to the contract. Then you give it back to us and we look it over again. If we like the changes, we sign the contract. If we don't like the changes, we keep going back and forth until we compromise. If we can't compromise, you keep looking for another record deal."

"We've talked to you and Jordan enough to know what you'll want to see in a deal and frankly, it's what we're willing to do. I can already foresee a couple of changes that you'll want to make, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Isaac told her giving her a hug.

Taylor put in his two cents worth. "You'll get the first offer today, I'm sure."

"I hope so. Ok, if we wait around here, I'm going to go stark raving mad. Let's go out and do something."

"What do you want to do?" Isaac asked.

"Well, I have to be at the studio for rehearsal at one, so we've got about 4 hours. Well, 3 actually if you count the time it will take me to shower and get dressed and stuff." You guys decide while I go shower."

Are you sure you want us tagging along?" Taylor questioned gesturing to Zac and himself.

"Of course. Plus, Isaac was going to come with me to the studio to give me pointers, and I would love it if ya'll would come too."

"Sure!" Taylor and Zac chorused. They really liked this girl. As far as either one of them could remember, Parker was the first girl that Isaac had dated that didn't mind them tagging along. In fact, she was the first girl that hadn't broken up with him because of it."

Parker walked out of the bathroom still clothed. "Hey, I thought of a favor you guys could do for me," she said looking at Taylor and Zac.

"What is it?" Taylor asked.

"Well, Suzie usually does the videotapping, but she has to work today. Do you think you guys could pinch hit for her?"

"Of course. We'd love to!" Zac exclaimed.

"Great! I'll be out in a jiffy." And with that, she retreated back into the bathroom to shower.

"Well, guys what are we going to do?" Zac asked turning to his brothers.

"Parker talked about getting a new outfit for Sunday. Maybe we should head over to Woodland Hills Mall and then go to lunch," Isaac said.

"Where to for lunch?" Zac asked.

"Dang, Zac, always thinking with your stomache," Taylor chided.

"You bet your sweet bippy!" Zac said with a huge cheesy grin on his face.

Isaac rolled his eyes at his brothers.

"How about Casa Bonita? It's close to the studio and they have really good food."

"Ok," Taylor and Zac answered.

"So, what are we doing, guys?" Parker walked out of the bathroom, dressed, with make-up on, and a towel around her head.

"We're going shopping at Woodland Hills Mall and then to lunch at Casa Bonita," Isaac told her.

"Ok. I love Casa Bonita. Why not shopping at The Promenade Mall? It's closer to Casa Bonita and the studio."

"Well, we sort of stay away from The Promenade. It's in a more central location and therefore more people," Zac replied.

"Oh, that makes sense. You guys don't feel like running today?"

"Not really," Taylor said with a grin.

"Let me go finish doing my hair and I'll be ready." Parker walked into the bathroom leaving the door open.

"Are you nervous about tomorrow?" Parker looke up to see Zac standing in the doorway.

"A little," she confessed. "It's going to be televised, you know."

"No, I didn't know that."

"Yeah, that's what I'm most nervous about. Luckily, I'm not the only one performing. If that were the case, I would be 'lose my lunch' nervous."

Zac laughed. "I used to get that nervous when we'd perform in front of lots of people like that. Do you know how far the television coverage will be?"

"I think it'll be like the concert that ya'll did for Wal-Mart several years ago. You know, broadcast only to Wal-Mart stores nationwide, but there will be news crews there too."

"How cool!"

Parker finished her hair, straightened the bathroom and then walked into the livingroom, Zac in tow. "Let's get going."

"Ok," Isaac said. He went into the kitchen and grabbed his keys off the hook on the wall under the phone." Let's head. We'll take my car, since we're going to the studio too. Park, do you have your cell phone?"

"Sure do," she answered holding up the phone.

The four headed out the door to the mall.
