Similar to the New London theatre for Cats, the Apollo Victoria theatre uses all the space available as the set of the show, with a track all the way around the outside, and a smaller loop enclosing the inner section of the seating. We had about the best seats in the theatre, right infront of the inner track. Annoyingly we couldn't get hold of a souvenir brochure, but I soon forgot about that when the show started.

The music was really really loud, and you feel totally emersed in the power and energy of the trains. The costumes and skating were wonderful to see. The show has so much colour and fun. The singing was great, and not one of the characters was a let down. The only complaint I have is that the song 'He'll Whistle at Me' has been cut from the show. Though Pearl made up for this by performing 'Make up My Heart' really beautifully.

The races were really cool to watch, and I loved the punch-ups that happen! Rusty got the support of the audience; even though I already know he wins I still felt like cheering him on.

The 2nd Act was the best 2nd Act of all the shows I saw, just a rollercoaster ride of quality entertainment. 'The Rap' was the most groovy musical song you can get, 'UNCOUPLED' was done superbly by Dinah, 'One Rock'n'Roll Too Many' was hilarious, 'Next Time You Fall in Love' was really lovely, and 'Light at the End of the Tunnel' was the perfect finale. The audience got clapping along during this song, and when the Megamix started everyone was having so much fun. I defy anyone, at this stage of the show, not to have a huge grin on their face and be clapping along. I've never known the audience to have such a good time.

When a show is able to get the audience going as much as this did, I can see it running and running, and I would bet on this overtaking Cats as the longest running musical. I will definitely be seeing it again, and more than once!
