'"LukeandLaura has been one word, virtually indivisible, for more than 20 years, and the chemistry Genie Francis and Anthony Geary share is the once-in-a-soap-lifetime variety. But until Stefan and his previously unknown backstory arrived in Port Charles, the thought that anyone actually could make romantic inroads in the Spencer union was inconceivable. So many secrets and lies have been revealed since then, and, finally pushed beyond his limit when he learned that Stefan is Nikolas' father, Luke left town a few months ago. That was just the opening Stefan needed. He wants nothing more than for Nikolas to have the family so long denied him. Laura tries to fight it, but she wants that too. (Francis and Stephen Nichols sparkle together.) She also wants to be with Lucky and Luke, who recently returned to town. She can't have it both ways".
Most Seperated Couple: Luke and Laura, GH "Between Genie Francis' extended maternity leave and Anthoy Geary's extended vacation time, GH's writers had to song-and-dance around Luke and Laura's coupledom since they were hardly ever in th same town, much less the same home, room (or bed). Initially Laura fled to Switzerland to neutralize Stefan's threat to tell Luke about their past. Luke visited a few times (offcamera) but failed to tell her that Lucky found out about the rape and moved out of the house. Laura showed up right after the Bacchanalia Ball (Francis' year long maternity leave was over), but never told Luke she was there and standing next to Stefan when Katherine fell to her "death". Luke still didnt tell her about Lucky,- Audrey did- so the Spencer household was hardly the site of domestic tranquililty. They managed to work their way through the erape issue and were pretty much on speaking terms, then Laura took the witness tand as Stefan's trial. Her eyewitness testimony got him acqutted, but Laura lied when she was questioned about their relationship. Sitting in the back of the courtroom, at that moment Luke knew the truth - that Laura and Stefan had slept together and Nikolas was their son. Geary's vacation came in the nick of time. Luke left Port Charles for parts unknown and wasn't heard from for months. When he returned, Laura, Lucky and Lesley Lu were partying with the Cassadines at Wyndemere.
Least Forgiving: Lucky, GH It was a staggering blow when Lucky learned that his father - his hero the amn he had idolized - had raped his mother 20 years ago. The news sent Lucky into a talispin; he rebuffed his parents and left home. Despite Luke and Laura's attempts to explain the tainted incident and the deep down love that eventually grew between them, Lucky cut then no slack.
Joan Crawford Mommie Dearest Award: Helena, GH Where do we begin? Since returning to Port Charles, Helena has done absolutely everything she can think of to ruin son Stefan's relaltionship with Nikolas, all in the name of getting her hands on Nikolas' inheritance. She also set her vengeful sights on her late husband Mikkos, bastard daughter, Alexis, threatening her life at very turn andusing those threats to force Alexis to do her bidding. Helena's venomous tongue and stone-cold heart give us the shivers.
