George Northrop Jr. was born about 1700, the child of George Northrop, Sr. and Susannah ??. He married Eleanor Blomen Nyce(de Nyce), daughter of Hans and Janneken de Nyce. Hans de Nyce, a native of Crefeld, Germany, was founder of Nicetown, Pa and Baptist preacher at Germantown, Pa. He died May 23, 1708.

George and Eleanor had four known children. George is named on the tax list of 1734 as owning 100 acres, probably the parcel his father had acquired. Later, he acquired 150 more acres in Lower Dublin Township and parcels in High Street Ward, Pennsylvania. He joined the Pennyback Baptist Church March 31, 1739. Eleanor died in November, 1742.

George died in DEC 1780 in Lower Dublin Twp, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
