Hollis Anson Northup was born on April 1, 1873 of Charles Wesley and Eliza Northup in Lyon County on the family homestead in Monroe tsp near Amiret, Minnesota. The family moved to Ottertail County in 1896, and although Hollis was 23 at the time, he apparently went along and farmed up the Ottertail River from the home place until he died in 1921. He was married to Anna Tess Sekavek, (B: 26 Dec 1876, Ellsworth, Kansas D: 14 Mar 1947 Newport, Pend Oreille, Washington) for whom there is a quite a lineage in the Familysearch WEBsite. They had two children, Benjamin and Hazel. Church records at the Presbyterian Church in Maine show that Hollis and Anna were baptised there in 1906, and their two children, Ben and Hazel were baptised there in 1914. Ben later married a Jessie Jennie and moved to Ridgefield, Washington, where some of their children still live. Hazel also went west, and died in Newport, Pend Oreille, Washington in 1960. No mention is made whether or not Hollis and Anna were buried in the Maine cemetary, but Hollis' parents, Charles and Eliza Blanch were buried there, as was my Grandfather Archie and Myrtle, side by side under a spruce tree.
