Zebulon Northup was born 6 Dec 1741 in N Kingstown, Ri. He was the third son of David and Margaret (Watson) Northup He was married: Abt 1763 Place: N Kingstown, Ri to Mary Cole, daughter to Benjamin Cole and Scuse Fones. They had seven known children.

Zebulon and Mary had a daughter, Susanna, who married Benjamin Gardiner. They also had a son, Anthony, who married Sarah Rathbun. Benjamin and Susanna's daughter, Marcy married Anthony and Sarah's son, Remington. So Remington and Marcy were first cousins.
