NOAH AND THE FLOOD CHAPTER SIX

Man began to multiply on the earth and had daughters born onto them and the Sons of God saw the daughters were fair and they took wives onto them, as many as they chose to. There were giants on the earth in those days and thereafter; and children were given birth when the sons of God had relations with the daughters of the men. Then the Lord said, "My spirit shall not dwell in this flesh, forever; then his lifetime shall be one hundred and twenty years." The children grown, were the mighty men who were of old, the men of great renown. When the Lord saw that the wickedness of the men on the earth was great and that man's every thought and inclination was only evil, sin, and hate, He regretted that He had made man on the earth, and was grieved to the heart. Then the Lord said, "I will wipe away this breed of man whom I have created from the earth - - - man and beast, crawling creatures and birds of the air, as well the greatest and the least - - - for I regret that I have made them." But there was among the horde, one man whose name was Noah who found favor with the Lord. This is the story of Noah who was indeed a just man who walked blameless among the men of his day. He walked with God. And Noah begot three sons who Shen, Ham, and Japeth were called. But the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and with violence it was enthralled. God saw that the earth was corrupt and that all men lived corruptly at this time, and told Noah, "The end of all creatures of the flesh is on my mind; the earth is full of violence because of them, and therefore, I will destroy them with the earth that they shall be no more. Make an ark of resin-wood, with fibre make it tight. And cover it with pitch inside and out. That it be right, this is how you shall build it; three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide build it and thirty high, and all along the side make an opening finished a cubit from the top. Make it in three levels and set a door from the side to drop. For in truth I will bring the flood upon the earth to destroy from under heaven all flesh which does breath of life enjoy. All that there are on earth shall die. But I shall establish covenant with you and you will go with all your family into the ark and their families along with them. Of every living creature of all flesh you shall bring two, and then, male and female you shall keep them alive with you. Also take every kind of food that can be eaten and store it up with you to make food enough for you and all them according to their kind." And Noah did all God commanded him - - all he was assigned.
