    STATEMENT OF PURPOSE  The Personality Institute of the Southern Tier was founded to explore the diversity and dynamics of personality as identified by the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and its role in the positive development of human potential.   The purpose of this website is to inform, to encourage, and to affirm all who visit us by creating an awareness of the diversity in personality types and how this may affect every area of life.  It is our desire that you may come to know and embrace the uniqueness of each individual, recognizing that each person is born with a specific God-given personality type and that all types are to be valued equally.  It is our hope that, through these pages, you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation, both of  yourselves and of others, that a sense of self-worth and the healing of relationships may take place.
