Hello there.....and thanks for visiting my personal photo album section of this web site. Actually, it really has NOTHING to do with Pharaoh Records or music in general, per se, but last week I was going through some old boxes and ran across a ton of old pictures (and some recent ones, too), and, it sure brought back some fond memories. So, I thought I'd post a separate "personal" section and share just a few of my favorite snapshots with you.
Here's a picture of the late great country music star, and a personal friend, FARON YOUNG, which I keep hanging on my office wall behind my desk. It's an important picture to me because Faron was not only a personal friend with whom I use to spend hours on the phone talking to and corresponding through the U.S. mail with (before computers), but Faron was also my role model...my inspiration. Not only did I try to emulate him vocally (which I've frequently been compared to, and which was probably a mistake in my early recording career), but Faron also provided many helpful suggestions when we were first getting our magazine ("Country Note Connection") off the ground. And while Faron had his faults, like most of us do, he also was a sensitive guy and very caring. When one of my sisters, for example, suffered a massive stroke in the early 90's and was bound to a wheelchair, Faron called her and then sent her an autographed photo on her last birthday just before she died, and this meant so very much to my sister as she was one of Faron's biggest fans.
Here's a picture of me at age 14, sitting next to my sister, Rita (age 16) and my mother, Edna. Rita and I were the youngest of the 10 children. This was taken just shortly before my sister moved to France with her military husband.
BELOW ARE SOME VERY EARLY PICTURES OF ME IN MY ACTING DAYS.
