Like a Madonna she surrounds herself with children under 10. Adjudicator, at the school carnival, handing out ribbons but, then, she’s cultivating the next generation with generosity & praise - what so many lack at home, where parents struggle with children to raise. Her husband is a local businessman, though struggling no one would dream. This mother of two, with propensity to ‘kill or be kind’ is a local, drug queen. No one who’s twigged can touch; the constabulary? She has them on side. They take the pocketmoney off kids & outwardly disdain a free ride. The parents are as innocent, as the kids who flock to her open door. She sells their lives, from a cavity in her bedroom ceiling - this whore. As her kids sleep, she can be found at 1am, in a club on poker machines. Feeding her own addiction, in her secret life - with their money in reams. One parent went to the police as informant; a prick in the lucrative bubble. Within 4 hours the family were coerced; under threat, for her trouble: Baby-sitters are paid lavishly not in money but, in kind - by the crone. They chauffeur her to clubs; the market; the distant drug factory; then home. Home coming queen? Control, missed in school, redeemed by running rings around the kids, her willing volunteers; as she pulls their unwitting strings. They seek her here; there; they beg; borrow; steal for her - anywhere! Her will reigns, a dream come true; a most popular woman; I declare. 3 August 1998 Robyn Anne Pace
