Never    Be

Some talk incessantly of nothing;
vicariously they talk.
Leaving behind anger,
not attempting to view the tracks they walk.
The selfish fouling of words,
formed by vengeful ways
citing, ‘ An eye for an eye;
I’ll make sure he pays’.

The circle of spite has started,
as they justify each step.
They care not, for the river of salt
where their victims wept.
They condemn others for creating slums
where no one can live,
crushing with spite the essence of life,
so, others have naught to give.

They do it with covert thoughts as vicious;
as the acts performed.
Patterns  for massacre & war,
leaving children emotionally deformed.
They whisper spite within the hearing
of innocence - who adorn
their very soul, with the example of adults
already marred & torn:

This is a microcosm of the macrocosm
that magnifies scales.
Genocide; mass murder; war;
all the worlds woeful tales.
These same, sit by their firesides & TV’s
condemning folly,
then on microcosmic scales create,
what they morally sully:

Gratefully, I thank God
for the land where we walk free.
The promised land where I live
in joy & peace as me.
Where kin touch only in love
& rule fairly as brethren,
& such ignorance will ‘never be’
the force to dictate to our children.

Peace needs to begin 'one on one'

to advocate awareness
on a broader scale
if we start from an early age
a new generation will herald the new millennium.
