Inspired by a chat on ICQ with a 'Gulf' veteran Spitting bugs drop from overhead, their sting leaving their mark. A burn; an itch; often death or, fatal illness, less stark than the mental scars a lifetime, of service & dedication embeds in human psyche - empathy; compassion; or, guilt - the silent dread: For the spitting, stinging vermin are man made & terminal. Not content with natures plagues & cullings, man needs reign capital - the peak of autocracy - with a show of superiority as authority rules contributing to genocide & anger; proving man as puppeteering fools: Authority pits man on human; God against church; kin opposing self & seeks approval of indoctrinated cronies, accumulating wealth; presumably what makes the world go round: Obsolete is love - it holds not, the instant gratification of power; abominations glove. The glove! Coated in crude velveteen; it beckons with false pride. Offering vision of righteous indignation taking the naive for its ride Making them uniform & select; honed to doctrines focus, as they march out stiff & proud to perform authorities 'hocus pocus'. Craft takes toll; victims return - or, not - from learnt filth & try to mentally justify their role as assassins without stealth. Shameful? That man developed warmongering as skill called 'blame art'. If you want peace don't look for it in humans; turn to your own heart. 5 January 1999 Robyn Anne Pace
