What are scribbles?
Scribbles are the weekly replies
our History of Psych class was asked to make to our readings. We read a
chapter from the text (which our professor incidentally wrote) and wrote
down our thoughts, any thoughts. If we hated the quotes because they were
too long, we said that. If we wanted to relate something about our own
lives, we did. If we wanted to draw cartoons, you can guess.
We weren't marked on the scribbles,
they were used instead to incite discussion in the class. Their main purpose,
however, was to give our professor pleasure. It was made clear to us at
the beginning of the year that the main purpose of the course was simply
to amuse our professor. He is actually retired, but returned, part-time,
to teach this one course. We're very glad he did.
