My Kleve/Klave Lineage
By Randall S. Treadway

Welcome to my Kleve/Klave Lineage Page. I have been working on this line for many many years now. The surname appears in Iowa records as: Kleve, Klewe, Klawe and Klave. In an email from Mark W. in 2005, he stated the following regarding the Klave Surname: The polish branch spelling was Klawe. In the polish language "v" is almost unused and the sound is spelled as "W". Mark also stated that the Klave family were originally small noblemen who used the von title. As the family took part in the 1794 Kociuszko's insurrection against Russia, the victorious Russians took away part of the family's land (Neüwaldt inheritance) but also took away the noble title as punishment (Thank you for this information Mark).

This page would be incomplete if it were not for so may distant cousins such as Betty Peters and so many others that have contributed both their time and research to make this page what it is today. I believe that all the information below is correct, but if you find any discrepancies, please email me. I hope you find the information helpful to you. Thank you for dropping by. Enjoy.

Please remember each bit of information found here, or elsewhere, must be researched and proven by weight of evidence, via you, the researcher.
