Edward died on 14 April 1844 in Yancey Co., North Carolina. Frances had died earlier (Thank you for this information Eva). Their children were:

3.  William Waldrop, born 1784 - 1794, b: 1785 (per 1860 Census). Note: I have no proof that William as the son of Edward, only that he was with Edward throughout many census records. Until I find other proof, I am leaving him here. William married at least twice. William married firstly to Elizabeth Cochran?. He was granted 50 acres of land in Burke Co., North Carolina on 11 Oct 1815 on waters of Peppers Creek (Grant 3927), 50 acres of land on Peppers Creek the same day (Grant 3928), and 75 acres of land on 28 Feb 1817 (Grant 3929) - Thank you Carol Ann Waldrop. William and his family were listed in the 1810 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 1 m under 10, 1 m 16 to 26, 1 f under 10, 1 f 16-26 next door to Edward. William and his family were listed in the 1820 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 1 m under 10, 1 m 10 to 16, 1 m 26 to 45, 2 f under 10, 1 f 10 to 16, and 1 f 18 to 26. Their family was then listed in the 1830 3rd Regiment, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 2 m under 5, 1 m 10 to 15, 1 m 50 to 60, 2 f under 5, 1 f 5 to 10, 3 f 10 to 15, 3 f 15 to 20, and 1 f 40 to 50. Their family was then listed in the 1840 Southern District, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 m 10 to 15, 1 m 15 to 20, 1 m 60 to 70, 1 f 5 to 10, 2 f 10 to 15, 1 f 15 to 20, and 1 f 40 to 50. William was listed in the 1860 Madison Co., North Carolina Census records living with his son Solomon Peter and family.

     a.  Solomon Peter Waldrupe, b: ca 1808, NC or TN, married Lydia Reece. Lydia was b: ca 1827 in NC, the daughter of John J. Reece. They were listed in the 1850 Buncombe Co., NC Census, and the 1860 Madison Co., NC Census. Solomon d: 1862, Madison Co., NC. Lydia was listed in the 1870 and 1880 Madison Co., NC Census records. Children: John W., Frankie "Fanny", Malinda, Catherine "Cassy", Mary Jane, Margaret, William Brownlow, Wesley, and Tennessee Waldrop.

     b.  Elizabeth Waldrupe, b: ca 1809, NC or TN, married, Blasinham Hensley. Blasingham was b: 1802, NC, the son of James Hensley and Nancy Anderson. They were listed in the 1830 Buncombe Co., NC Census, and the 1840 Clay Co., KY Census. Blasingham d: 1848, Clay Co.,KY. Elizabeth was listed in the 1850 Clay Co., KY Census records. Children: Benjamin, George, Edward, Solomon, Sarah and Asa Hensly.

     c.  Eli Waldrop b: 1800, NC married to Elizabeth "Betsy" b: ca 1809 in NC/SC, who was widowed in the 1850 Buncombe Co., NC Census. Elizabeth was listed in the 1860 Madison Co., NC Census, and the 1870 Ivy Twp., Madison Co., North Carolina Census records. Children: William, Nancy, Mary, Margaret Ann, Greenberry, Ezekial, Peter and John Waldrop.

     William married second to Rachel Vinnah Roberts on 08 January 1848 in Greene Co., Tennessee (Thank you Carol Ann Roberts). Vinnah was born ca 1829 in North Carolina, the daughter of William Roberts. William and Vinnah were listed in the 1850 Greenville, Greene Co., Tennessee Census, and the 1860 Madison Co., North Carolina Census records, living next to Peter Solomon's family. Their children were:

     e.  James Waldrop, b: Dec 1854, NC, married Sarah Searcy on 16 Nov 1879. Sarah was b: Sep 1863 in NC, the daughter of Joseph Searcy and Elizabeth Morris. Sarah d: 18 May 1923. Children: Mary, W. Andrew, and Luther Waldrop.

4.  Elizabeth Mary Waldrop, born: ca 1785. She married Caleb Underwood on 11 Oct 1808, Garrard Co., KY. Caleb was born in 1779 in Delaware, the son of James Underwood and Margaret Offill. They were listed in the 1810 Garrard Co., Kentucky Census, the 1820 and 1830 Green Co., Kentucky Census, and the 1850 Taylor Co., Kentucky Census. Elizabeth died after the 1850 Census. Caleb was listed in the 1860 Taylor Co., Kentucky Census records. He died on 20 December 1862. Their children were:

     a.  Abraham Hiram Underwood, b: 02 Apr 1808, Garrard Co., KY, married Mary "Polly" Rourke on 15 Dec 1830, Green Co., KY. Polly was b: 1812, Green Co., KY, the daughter of William Roarke and Nancy Warren. Abraham d: 13 Jul 1866 and Polly d: 1875. They are buried in the Snow Hill Cemetery, Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY. Children: Cynthia, Elizabeth, William A., Nancy, and James S. Underwood.

     b.  Younger Richard Underwood, b: 1810, Garrard Co., KY, married twice. He married firstly to Elizabeth Milby. Elizabeth was b: 1815, VA. They were listed in the 1850 Taylor Co., KY Census. It appears that they separated as Younger was listed in the 1870 and 1880 Green Co., KY Census records by himself. Children: Mary A., Lucinda, Sarah A., Parthenia, Benford, Rebecca Jane, Younger, John, William H., and Nancy E. Underwood.

     c.  Elizabeth "Betsey" Underwood, b: 09 Sep 1811, KY, married John Skaggs. John was b: 1809, TN. Elizabeth d: 17 Aug 1885 and John d: 10 Mar 1884. They are buried in the Skaggs Family Cemetery, Raywick, Marion Co., KY. Children: Margaret, Mary Jane, William, Amanda A., Archibald, Nancy, Margaret Elizabeth, Manerva, John Skaggs.

     d.  James Underwood, b: 1819, KY, married Sarah Ann Scott. Sarah was b: 17 Jun 1829, KY, the daughter of Elisha Scott. James d: 05 Dec 1907 and is buried in the Clayton Cemetery, Hendricks Co., Indiana, and Sarah d: 01 Dec 1890 and is buried in the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Saloma, Taylor Co., KY. Children: Elizabeth, John Robert, Ellen, Lucinda A., Nancy A., William Jackson, James Henry, Margaret Irene, Lucinda, Martha Ann, and Randall Underwood.

     e.  Mary "Polly" Underwood, b: 1820, Green Co., KY, married Stephen Perkins on 11 Jun 1840, Green Co., KY. Stephen was b: 1816, KY, the son of Richard and Martha Perkins. Polly d: ca 1864, Taylor Co., KY. Stephen remarried. Stephen d: 1888. Polly and Stephen's children: John R., William, Allen, Pleasant, Elizabeth, Caleb, and James Perkins.

     f.  Martha "Patsy" Underwood, b: 1822, Green Co., KY, married Warren Thompson. Warren was b: 1800, KY. He was previously married with children. Martha d: 1891, Taylor Co., KY.

     g.  Joshua Underwood, b: 1823, Green Co., KY, married Mary "Polly". Polly was b: 1824, KY. Joshua d: 06 Mar 1868, Taylore Co., KY. Polly remarried. Children: Elizabeth, Melvina, James, George, Matilda, William F., and Mary E. Underwood.

     h.  Frances Underwood, b: 1824, Green Co., KY, married Phillip Taylor Murphy. Phillip was b: 24 Aug 1829, Green Co., KY. Frances d: 06 May 1851, and Phillip d: 10 Oct 1852,, both in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY.

5.  Anna Waldrop, born 1784, North Carolina, married Jeremiah Jones on 03 June 1806 in Macon Co., North Carolina. Jeremiah was b: 1774 in North Carolina. They were listed in the 1840, Rockingham Co., North Carolina Census, and the 1850 and 1860 Rockingham Co., North Carolina Census. Anna died after the 1860 Census. Jeremiah was listed in the 1870 Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Jeremiah died and is buried in the Jones Cemetery, Reidsville, Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Children:

6. Eli Waldrop, born 1790, North Carolina, married Nancy Lowrey. Nancy was born in 1787. They were listed in the 1820 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 2 m under 10, 1 m 18 to 26, 2 f under 10, and 1 f 16 to 18 (Note: This does not quite match with the children below). They migrated to Macon Co., North Carolina, as their family was listed in the 1830 Macon Co., North Carolina Census with 2 m 5 and under, 2 m 5 to 10, 1 m 15 to 20, 1 m 30 to 40, 1 f 5 and under, 1 f 5 to 10, 1 f 10 to 15, 1 f 30 to 40, and the 1850 Macon Co., North Carolina Census. Eli died in 1858. Nancy was listed in the 1860 Macon Co., North Carolina Census records as living with her son Joab. Their children were:

     c.  Ambrose Waldrop, b: 1816, Burke Co., NC. He married twice. He married firstly to Francis "Franky" Gibson on 03 Sep 1834 in Haywood Co., NC. Franky was b: 1814 to Nathan Gibson. Children: D. Franklin Lafayette, William A., Hugh M., Isaac, Adolphus C., Powell R., Alexander C., and Sarah E. C. Waldrop. Ambrose married secondly to Nancy West on 04 Sep 1864 in Macon Co., NC. Children: A.L. and John S. Waldrop.

Susannah married secondly to William H. Mantooth "Bill" Dryman. Bill was previously married. Bill was b: 23 Oct 1813, Buncombe Co., NC, the son of John Dryman and Elizabeth Dillard. Dicy was born 14 March 1808, Whitley Co., Kentucky, the daughter of Elisha and Mourning Inman. They were listed in the 1830 and 1840 Whitley Co., Kentucky Census. Their children were:

     g.  Dorcas L. "Darcas" Waldrop, b: 08 Oct1842, NC, married William Riley Boone on 23 Mar 1861 in Madison Co., NC. William was b: 01 May 1838, NC, the son of Enos Boone and Jemima Ray. Darcas d: and William d: 23 May 1916. They are buried in the Nichols Cemetery, Rockcastle Co., KY. Children: Margaret, Enos, Thomas, Daniel, James, William Riley, Hulda, and Molly Boone.
