Already the last day of our trip has come. We leave Gythio and
first drive a long way to the south and arrive at Vathia. A somewahat strange village. They
are still busy with building and restoring the old traditional
buildings. The village lies on top of a hill and is surrounded by
large cactus plants.
Again a little more to the south we reach a nice secluded beach,
with a taverna (close to Paliros). Very quiet (only 6 people) a
wide sandbeach, so we stayed there for a couple of hours.
After lunch in the taveran, we drive back to the north, back to
Kalamatra. During that last drive we hoped to visit the grottes
of Dirou. Unfortunately they apear to close at 3 o'clock (no
signs).
At the end of the afternoon we are back in the Hotel we started
from after a magnificant trip of about 1400km.
