Mission Order 00-07: Hurricane Gordon -- The Virtual Emergency Operations Center -- 171400 September 2000
TASK ORGANIZATION: Virtual Emergency Operations Center Staff
1. SITUATION: Hurricane Gordon is now a minimal Category I hurricane located at 1100 near 27.8 degrees North, 83.8 degrees West with maximum sustained winds of 65 knots, gusting to 80 knots. Gordon is tracking northeast at 14 knots. Heavy rain is associated with the storm, and there is high potential for tornadoes as the storm crosses central and northern Florida this evening. Storm track forecasts indicate Gordon will emerge into the Atlantic and track north, with effects felt all along the Atlantic Coast.
2. MISSION: The Virtual Emergency Operations Center will activate at 171400 September to provide daily Situation Briefings.
3. EXECUTION:
a. Concept of Operations: Initial operations will provide the Situation Briefing for supported agencies. As the situation develops requirements for specific support may be expected.
b. Staffing: Staffing in The Virtual Emergency Operations Center will include:
(1) Incident Commander.
(2) Situation Unit Leader.
(3) Time Unit Leader.
c. Coordinating Instructions:
(1) Commence operations at 171400 September 2000.
(2) Cease operations when Hurricane Gordon no longer poses a threat to land.
d. Time Reporting: All personnel submit time reports for all duty tasks performed to the Time unit Leader by 1800 daily.
4. LOGISTICS: There are no identified logistics requirements.
5. COMMAND AND COMMUNICATIONS:
a. Incident Command:
(1) Incident Commander will be located in the Virtual Emergency Operations Center.
(2) Succession to Command will be per SOP.
b. Communications:
(1) The Virtual EOC primary page will be:
