Tips and Cheats

If you think mines are around your buildings, build a building, but don't place it. Sweep the white placement marker around the buildings. If a square within the white marker turns red and you can't see a visible obstacle, there is a mine there.

To find a sub, select a gunboat or destroyer, and move your movement cursor into the radar map. Slowly sweep across the radar map with the cursor. If the cursor changes to the red attack cursor, there is a submarine there or select a transport and hold down the CTRL key as you sweep your movement cursor over water. If it suddenly turns into a "I can't move there" cursor, there is a submarine at that spot.

If you place tanks on the shoreline where the enemy transports try to land. The transports will never unload.

Cruiser will mostly overshoot their targets. To correct your gunners' aim, manually target a square short of your intended target. If it's still long, bring the target closer to the cruiser. If it's short, fire a little closer at the building.

Cruisers can't target submarines directly, but they can target the empty water next to submarines. Submarines will still take damage from near misses. If your cruiser is far enough away, you might even miss the patch of water you targeted and score a direct hit on a sub.

If you are the allies, use the mine layer a lot. Surround your town with mines.

If you are plaing a level where you have to kill a moving target, use your spy to get into your ememy's radar dome. Now you can see where the target is going.

If you are the allies, get a cruiser and a chronosphere. Then chronoshift the cruiser near the ememy's town. This will cause lots of chaos for him.

Cruisers can't target submarines directly, but they can target the empty water next to submarines. Submarines will still take damage from near misses. If your cruiser is far enough away, you might even miss the patch of water you targeted and score a direct hit on a sub. If you know you are playing a tank rusher and you are allies, counter this by rushing him with Light Tanks, they are cheaper and faster to make than Heavy Tanks.

Always make two normal power plants at the start of the game because if the ememy could rush you and kill a plant and without a power plant, you will bulid very slow. This has happened to me once. This is called fast cruisers. Make 2 or 3 cruisers and 1 transport. Select them all and make them a numbered team. Then press the "F" key to keep them in formation, this will make the cruisers as fast as transports.

TESLA WALL The soviets best defence is of course the tesla coil. The problem is the fact that they need a lot of power to work. Building a lot of power plants is the answer but if you build them to close together they become very susceptible to the A bomb. It is best to build two lots of power plants both having enought power to power your whole base. Although this could take sometime it is very important because other wise your tesla coils are useless. Build a wall of tesla coils where the enemy will be attacking. Also build about ten V2 rockets to protect from other V2’s. It also a good idea to build Sam sites behind the tesla’s for air defence.

CHINOOK HELICOPTERS AND TANYA

The soviets have a very good helicopter it can carry troops from one place to another the Chinook. Although this is good it can be very good if you load it up with 2 Tanya’s and 3 engineers fly them to the enemy’s base unload it by the construction yard. Blow every thing up you can before you are noticed then jump all your engineers into a small power plant then build a tesla by it. Although you will be able to get a lot be careful to look out for camo pillboxes.

CONCRETE WALL A very good tactic if you are trying to protect a small gap is to bloke with concrete wall. Then build a row tesla and flame towers in front of it. If you are allies build your turrets and pillboxes in front of the wall because because the turrets will shot down the wall to attack enemy units. If you are using tesla coils remember to build too many power plants.

EXPANDNG YOUR BASE So you have a good base well defended and you are building up a attacking force to go and destroy enemy. Well what if they beat you to it and attack you they destroy your base and you are dead. So before you start building a big attacking force build a mcv and deploy it in a spare corner of the board and build a bit of defence and a ore refinery barracks and war factory and enough power run the outpost. Now build up a big force where the enemy can’t see it then when he goes for your base attack his base. So you are left with a base and ore income and building facilities. Rush what is left of your army back up to you outpost that is now your base. He has to attack the out post depending on what type of defence you had at your first base this should be easy.
