Extra: Codename: Kids Next Door, "Operation G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E.S."
by SpiderBraids We return to the mansion where the Children are congratulating Father on permanently getting rid of the KND. Father tells them to mop the floor because it smells like a frickin' petting zoo in the mansion. After they leave and Father has a monologue on pets, Father realizes they forgot the pooper scoopers. He calls them back in... and somehow, they've turned into rejects from Sheep in the Big City (another fine piece of Warburton's work!) T surprises boogerhead Father by running a loooong explanation of how the ray turned all the ops (and no one else, remember) into animals. Basically, it involves Father taking the Codemodule and hooking it up to his computer so that Father could connect to the KND's computer thing. "So I did the simplest thing in the world. I quit the Kids Next Door!" I understand that's the only way you could avoid animalization, but still... I smell quitter. T continues, he also figured out how to sign up the Children, thus the Sheep in the Big City shout out, so now he'll have to turn it off. Father thinks that the sheep are a big improvement, just to show he's evil. Cue chase scene! And whattaya know, Father runs straight into those who used to be the Sector V ops. The animals slap him around, and this allows T to gain a yooooge lead on Father by the time he uses his fire to blow them away. T is using this lead to free all the animals from the zoo (without painting himself in tiger stripes [Hey Arnold!, "Cool Party"]) when suddenly Father pins him in a cell. "I will not be humiliated by the runt of the litter! And I'm about to teach you a painful lesson!" And then T picks Father's nose and shoves his boogers into the Codemodule, which he is conveniently holding, and Father turns into a pipe-smoking jaguar. Seriously. And then Father gets locked up. "That oughta teach you to never underestimate the Kids Next Door!" KND wipe! T rides Hoagie the hippo into Father's room, kicks the crystal ball, returns everyone to regular form, yawn. We see the Gilligan brothers hug, and then fade to some hallway at the moonbase. The crew and 362 are having a talk. Nigel and Hoagie ask why they can't reinstate the person who just saved the organization, and 4 threatens to quit. No one seems to notice 4's threat the first time, so he threatens again, so that Numbuh 5 has to ask twice why not. 362 explains that they keep anyone who took their boogers out of the system (like T) from rejoining, as a computer failsafe to keep decomissioned teens from re-hacking in. Numbuh 3 says "Well that's just no fair!" T suddenly comes in dressed in a dark blue cape and fedora, and says, "From now on, I work alone," before plowing his way through some boring Batman-style speech, finally declaring himself... "The Tommy". What, like "The Donald"? Anyways, he flies back to earth in a trash can while Numbuh 5 makes fun of T: "He is definitely your brother, Numbuh 2!" Numbuh 2's asking "What's that supposed to mean?" while the others are laughing. Cue "end transmission" caption, cue end credits. And that's the way it is. So, that rules out any chance of getting some "Naive Newcomer" storylines on KND... And did we mention that "The Tommy" has been pretty boring since then? |
