Summon
materia is red in color and has a variety of powerful spells. Unlike magic
spells, summon spells are all offensive and can be used during battle only.
When casting a summon spell, a powerful entity will appear, do its attack
on the enemies and disappears. These spells are often spectacular and effective. |
Choco/Mog |

Spell name: Deathblow!!/Fat
Chocobo
Spell type: Wind
When summoned, a chocobo
will appear with a Mog on his back. They run into the enemies and deal
damage with a wacky dustcloud. Mog will be picked up by Chocobo (he fell
of). Sometimes, in about 1 to 10, a Fat Chocobo will drop down on the enemies
(instead of Choco and Mog). When you reach the Chocobofarm, talk to
the Chocobo outside in the meadow. After they danced, it will give you
the Choco/Mog materia. |

Shiva |

Spell name: Diamond Dust
Spell type: Ice
When summoned, little iceflakes
start to fall and Shiva appears. She waves her arms and shoots millions
of iceshards to the enemies, leaving them in an icy prison. After you've
saved the little girl from drowning in Junon, she'll give you the Shiva
materia the next day. |

Spell name: Hellfire
Spell type: Fire
When summoned the ground
will burn and a pillar of fire appears. Inside the pillar there is a demon
like creature who will roar and spit fire out of its mouth. Then he will
strike the opponent(s) with a fireball like blast, leaving heat and fire.
On
the boat from Junon to Costa Del Sol, you'll have to fight Jenova Birth.
Defeat it and it will leave the Ifrit materia. Don't forget to pick it
up. |

Spell name: Judgement Bolt
Spell type: Lightning
When summoned the ground
will rise and lightning will strike the top. Then an old man appears. He
waves his cane and a wave of lightning will strike the enemies. The
materia is located in the Jockey room in the Gold Saucer. When you have
escaped from the Gold Saucer prison, you will arrive there. Simply pick
up the red materia that lays on the floor. Don't forget to pick it up! |

Spell name: Anger of the Land
Spell type: Earth
When summoned the ground
will rise and break. Then a giant will appear and puts his hands in the
ground. He lifts the ground where the enemies stand and turns if over,
damaging the enemies for 1300. The materia is located in Gongaga (the
village with the melt-down reactor). Examine the scrap pile of the reactor
(Where Scarlet was standing). You'll get the option to reach for something.
Say yes and you'll receive the Titan materia. |

Odin |

Spell name: Gunge Lance or Steel
Bladed Sword
Spell type: Non-elemental
When summoned, a rain starts
and a black hole will open up. A horseman with a glowing lance will come
out and throws the lance into the sky. The lance will open the sky and
will fall down on the opponent. It delivers around the 3000 damage. The
name of the spell when cast is "Gunge Lance". But when there is more then
one opponent, Odin will react differently. Then a full moon appears with
Odin standing on a hill in the moonlight. Then he drops down and slashes
all opponents either missing them or killing them in an instant. The name
of this version is "Steel Bladed Sword". Odin can be found in the Shinra
mansion in Nibelheim. When you have located the safe on the first floor,
you'll have 20 seconds to open it. The code is spread in 4 parts around
the mansion. But if you don't want to search for it, its 36-10-59-97. But
put in exactly the code or it will not work. Try again if you failed. When
you have opened it a monster will attack you immediately. Defeat this monster
and pick up the red materia that lays on the floor. |

Leviathan |

Spell name: Tidal Wave
Spelltype: Water
When summoned, a large serpent
will appear. It will shout and a gigantic tidal wave will rise behind it.
Then it will roll towards the enemies and damaging them. The materia
is located in Wutai. Select Yuffie in your party and visit the pagoda.
She will have to battle a monster on each floor. There are 5 floors with
a boss on top (So five monsters must be battled) You can leave between
each battle to save and heal. Yuffie must battle these monsters alone so
equip the best materias and weapons before facing them. When the final
boss is defeated you will receive the "Leviathan" materia (And Yuffie's
Limit 4). |

Spell name: Mega Flare
Spelltype: Non-elemental
When casting this spell,
a dark vortex will appear. Out of this vortex comes a big black dragon
called "Bahamut". It will hover above the enemies and charge its breath
weapon. Then it will release a beam of raw power causing massive damage
to all enemies. When you are in the Temple of the Ancients, you'll notice
that Sephiroth is in a room with markings on the walls. Once you've catch
the old purple man that locked the door to this room, you'll be able to
go inthe marked room. After a conversation with Sephiroth, a big red dragon
will attack you. Defeat it and it will leave the Bahamut materia behind.

Spell name: Tetra Disaster
Spelltype: Lightning/Ice/Fire/Earth
When summoned, a series
of fire, ice and other natural disasters will occur. Finally, a big flame
will appear with a beast inside. The beast will stomp on the ground causing
an earthquake. The spell uses several elements so be careful. When you've
found the Lunar Harp, you can wake up the Sleeping forest. Once it wakes
up, look closely at the trees. You'll see a materia floating up and down.
When you run to fast towards it, it will disappear and re-appear somewhere
else in the forest. Walk slowly towards it and run at the end to grab it. |

Alexander |

Spell name: Judgement
Spelltype: Holy
When summoned the ground
will partially fall and a gigantic robot-like creature will rise. His big
hands will be placed on the ground and he will open his mouth. Then a fast
laser-like beam will hit the enemies and an explosion follows. Alexander
is pretty difficult to find. First you should go to the Icicle area. You
can go there by using your snow board. Since the outcome of your snow board
trip is random, we will not use directions. Instead, use the map you've
taken from the wall in Icicle village. First you need to reach the hot
springs. On the map, it looks like 2 lakes separated by the road. When
you reach it, walk towards the left lake (Steaming lakes, aka hot springs).
You will get a dialogue screen with the option of touching the water. Choose
to touch the water. Now, you'll have to find a cave with a woman. Once
you've found it, simply talk to her. She will turn into a snow witch. You
can steal the accessory "Circlet" from her and, when you've defeated her,
she'll drop the Alexander materia. |

Spell name: Giga Flare
Spelltype: Non-elemental
When summoned, the ground
were the enemies stand will be lifted towards the sky. Then in the sky
they will face a big red dragon. The dragon will power up and will fire
a beam that will go right through the enemies. It will completely wipe
out the land they stand on. The enemies will fall back to the earth. The
materia is located in the Whirlwind Maze. When you have climbed Gaea's
cliff and finished the caves you will come to the cliff that is leading
towards the Northern Crater. Near the save point is a red materia. Pick
it up and you now have the "Neo Bahamut" materia. |

Phoenix |

Spell name: Phoenix Flame
Spelltype: Fire
When summoned a golden ball
will fall unto the earth and a big flame will appear. Then a red fiery
bird will be born, spreading its wings and casts rays of pure light damaging
the opponent for 5000 damage and restores all dead members to full health.
When
Cloud is sick in Mideel, go with Cid and the others to Fort Condor. You'll
notice Shinra is waging a full scale attack on the fort. After you won
the mini battle game (Or defeated the boss) you'll see the egg hatching.
The condor will fall down and a big yellow bird is born. Go outside the
shed and pick up the red materia that is near the egg. |

Hades |
|
Spell name: Black Cauldron
Spelltype: Non-elemental
When summoned, a circle
will be cut out of the ground, four pillars will rise and a chandelier
will appear on the ceiling. Then a cauldron with Hades will appear and
he starts to cast a spell over the cauldron. Then the spell is complete
and it will blast out of the cauldron striking the enemies with a wave
of poison, causing not only damage but also status change. When you
have access to the submarine, go with it to the sunken cargo plane. Once
inside, go to the second cargo hold. Look for a red materia near the helicopter.

Typoon
(Typhon) |

Spell name: Disintegration
Spelltype: Wind
When summoned, a whirlwind
will appear and a creature with a big mouth will come. It causes a gigantic
tornado on the enemies. Then the creature will turn around and another
face will be seen. This face blows into the whirlwind and turns it upside
down. The ground breaks and will fall on the enemies causing serious damage.
Typoon
is located in the Ancient Forest. This is near Cosmo Canyon and looks like
a green mountain with yellow things in it. You can reach it with a Gold
(or green) Chocobo or when Ultimate Weapon is defeated. When you are in
the Ancient Forest, use the first tongue plant to reach the tree tops.
Walk to the far right and use the tongue plants three times in a row. Walk
towards the sack that lies there. Pick it up, you now have the "Typoon"
materia. |

Spell name: Tera Flare
Spelltype: Non-elemental
When casting this spell,
the camera will zoom out to outer space. After a short trip through the
stars a big silver dragon comes flying from the planets horizon. It will
hover above the planet and spread its wings. Then it will charge its breath
weapon and release a beam of pure energy. This beam hits the enemies and
a chain reaction follows causing massive damage. When Shinra is planning
to launch the rocket with Huge materia, go with Cid in your party to Rocket
town. When the rocket is launched go to the materia room. Open the container
with this code: Circle - Square - Cross - Cross (PSX) or Enter - Del -
Ins - Ins (PC) You'll receive the Huge materia. Once all materias are in
Bugenhagen's Observatory examine the one you got from the rocket. You'll
receive the Bahamut ZERO materia. You'll only get it when you have the
other two Bahamuts as well. |

Knights
of the Round |

Spell name: Ultimate End
Spelltype: Non-elemental
When summoned, the enemies
will fall down into an endless void. Twelve knights slash the enemies and
finally king Arthur will strike at them. This materia is in a cave on
an uncharted island north-east of the map. You can fly over it with the
Highwind but you cannot land. To reach the cave on that island, you'll
need a Golden chocobo. Once you have one, visit the island and pick up
the materia that is in the cave. |
