Man's
First Steps On The Moon
.
On
July sixteenth, it all began,
President
Kennedy's dreamed of plan.
The
crewmen Edwin, Mike and Neil,
Boarded
the rocket, with great zeal.
.
At
nine thirty two, Eastern daylight time,
The
rocket began, its long slow climb.
The
astronauts were all strapped inside,
As
they began their historic ride.
.
Their
destination, was the moon,
Everyone
knew, they would be there soon.
The
message came over their radio,
That
their systems were all go.
.
Finally
they reached their destination,
With
a lot of speculation.
They
gazed in wonder and in awe,
At
the magnificent sight they saw.
.
At
one forty six, Eagle's flight began,
And
two hours later, it came to land.
Aldrin
began, to tell what he saw,
While
Neil A. Armstrong, looked on in awe.
.
They
began to put on their lunar suits,
And
then strapped on their special boots.
Armstrong
undid the sealing latch,
And
then he began to crawl through the hatch.
.
He
climbed down the ladder, to the footpad,
And
then he told Aldrin, that it wasn't bad.
He
took the step, that made history,
And
from that moment on, man would be free.
From
the ties that held him down, to the Earth and to the ground.
