GETTING INTO SHAPE

While walking past a mirror, just the other night.

The image that looked back at me, was quite a chubby sight.

And at that very moment, I decided I was fat.

So I stated to my partner, I must improve on that.

So to the gym we wandered, after work that very night.

I began by pumping iron, it was quite a funny sight.

The sweat poured down my forehead, my breath became quite short.

Just the kind of feeling, I get on a tennis court.

So I kept on working, pumping iron by the pound.

When abruptly in my ears, I heard a ringing sound.

And then my head was spinning, my vision growing dim.

I staggered out the door, and collapsed outside the gym.

Later I awakened. while receiving Oxygen,

And was lifted on a stretcher, by both the metro men.

They took me to the hospital, overnight I was to stay.

While the doctors checked me over, in my bed I lay.

I began to really worry, that I was soon to die.

Then my wife arrived, and she looked about to cry.

Right then I made a promise, if I survived the night.

That I would get in shape, only now I'd do it right.

So I went on a careful diet, had a meeting with Ron Gale.

Who put me on a program, for the fairly average male.

I am staying on the diet, and working out real slow.

Sitting on my bicycle, while riding to and fro.

Now I pass this warning, to those of you like me.

If You want to get in shape, it's Ronnie you should see.

And get a proper program, to slowly lose your pounds.

Then You won't be risking, being planted in the ground.
