Show Must Go On

.
The Pipe Band were already, to go and do their show,
Drummers were a drumming, pipers set to go.
Peter Groenland was still getting dressed, all set to hoist the flag,
When he noticed something missing, from the stuff in his tote bag.

.
Showtime was approaching, but things could not begin,
Till Peter had the item, it meant a lot to him.
A frantic call to radio, please send a police car,
With a constable about my size, I'll make the man a star.

.
The dispatchers made their broadcast, could someone help the band,
And do a major favour for, our hero Pete Groenland.
Jeff Fletcher and his partner, responded to the call,
They marched into the Hyatt, and boldly down the hall.

.
Peter stood off to the side, sizing up the pair,
Decided Jeff would fit the bill, to save the whole affair.
The situation all explained, Jeff's eyes were gaping wide,
Tony Zanatta laughed so hard, he collapsed off to the side.

.
Deadline was approaching, the band received their cue,
Decision time had all but passed, nothing more to do.
The band took matters in their hands, to get the needed stuff,
They held him gently on the floor, no need to get too rough.

.
Equipment liberated, Pete all set to go,
Jeff left in the back room, he could not see the show.
What caused such an uproar, amidst the potted plants?
Fletcher in his underwear, and Peter in his pants.
