The Exhibit Man

.

Jennifer McMartin, on loan for buy and bust,

Went out to make a drug deal, the dealer stared in lust.

She passed him the ten dollars, bought a rock of crack cocaine,

Stuck it in her pocket, and walked into the lane.

.

Colleen Yee was covering, to ensure that all went well,

The bust was made by all the rest, things went really swell.

Jenn met up with pick up crew, who whisked her safe away,

Back into the office, to finish off the day.

.

Rusty Fostveldt was the guy, of exhibits he's in charge,

To take the coke that Jenn had bought, a small rock, not too large.

But somewhere in the drug room, it fell onto the floor,

And Rusty would not let anyone, step inside that door.

.

There he was on hands and knees, flashlight clutched in hand,

Searching madly all around, to see where it did land.

Wait, there's a lump of white there, it looks like alabaster,

But, soon he was crestfallen, it was just a piece of plaster.

.

Undaunted he kept searching, for that elusive little rock,

He had to find that evidence, 'cause he knew how we would talk.

Where oh where, could the darn thing go, in such a tiny place?

Desperation setting in, he was quickly losing face.

.

There off in the corner, he spied a glint of white,

The rock was sitting pretty, and surrendered with no fight.

So with such a thorough search done, and recorded in the log,

We decided Rusty could replace, a narcotics sniffing dog.
