The Big Arrest

.

Ian Wightman is a man, who is really on a roll,

Still adjusting to his recent move, from Ident to Patrol.

He was out there just the other night, his adventure just begun,

The Subway Bandit struck again, and now begins the fun.

.

The licence of the suspect car, matched the one he saw ahead,

A grey one going westbound, stopping for a light of red.

It took off quickly from the cop, Ian quickly on the case,

Engaged in high speed following, since we’re not allowed to chase.

.

The suspect quickly made a turn, and disappeared from sight,

Ian caught up quickly, made a sharp turn to the right.

The garbage can had other plans, and jumped into the road,

His fender crushed it nicely, and spilled its heavy load.

.

Right there in the laneway, the abandoned suspect car,

Joe citizen was pointing, that the robber was not far.

Ian had that witness, jump in his car with him,

The chance of him escaping, was looking mighty slim.

.

Racing round the corner, on the radio he heard,

A description of the suspect, he hung on every word.

There he is, I have him, there is nowhere left to run,

He bailed out of the vehicle, and quickly drew his gun.

.

The suspect soon surrendered, as the cover came on site,

He did as he was ordered, and gave up without a fight,

Then stepped out from his hideout, who was this superstar?

Just the witness sitting calmly, in Ian’s police car.
