Sturm was the son of a proud Solmanic family of a long
line of knights. At a young age he was forced to flee with his mother when
a mob attacked their castle. His father stayed to defend their home, giving
his life so that his family would have time to escape to safety. Sturm
was not able to grow up as a squire of a true knight but he never forgot
who he was. He lived by the Code and the Measure when he was not forced
or required to do so. Sturm moved to Solace where he met Caramon and Raistlin
and later the rest of the companions.
During the War of the Lance, his honor was constantly questioned by knights like Derek Crownguard, threatening his future in the knighthood. He finally became a knight of the crown when Laurana spoke on his behalf to Lord Gunthar. Sturm's brightest moment came when he was given the command of the knights of the crown defending the High Clerists Tower against a critical dragonarmy attack. He stood upon the walls and alone faced the highlord Kitiara and the blue Skie. He died in that battle but his effort gave the defenders the time they needed to set the Golden Generals plan into action and fend off the attack. Sturm was given a special burial and knights today visit his tomb with respect and awe. Although many would deny it, Sturm had a son named Steel. He was a valliant warrior who became a knight of Takhisis. Some believe that the mother of his child was Kitiara Uth Matar. |
