Who is Robert Pastorelli?
In Britain, not a lot is known about Robert Pastorelli, other than the fact that he took over from Robbie Coltrane in a US remake of the successful English TV show Cracker (renamed Fitz). To some of us though, this New Jersey born actor is a bit of legend. In a career that has included acting alongside the likes of Bette Midler, Kevin Costner, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Whoopie Goldberg and Tom Sizemore, Pastorelli has shown himself to be no light weight!
An ex-boxer and admitted one-time drug addict, Robert has been making a name for himself on television and in films for the last fourteen years, also starring in New York productions of plays such as Death Of A Salesman,One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest and Rebel Without A Cause.
Despite landing parts in Beverley Hills Cop 2 with Eddie Murphy and Outrageous Fortune with Bette Midler and Shelley Long, Robert's big break came a year later when he landed the role of Eldin Bernecky, a house painter, in the smash CBS series Murphy Brown. He stayed with the series for seven years, starring alongside the Emmy award winning Candice Bergen.
Whilst still appearing in Murphy Brown, Robert began to notch up film roles in films as varied as Dances With Wolves,Folks, and Striking Distance. It is now that he has left the long running series that the roles are becoming more prominent. His last three film roles were in the box-office smashes that were Michael, A Simple Wish and Eraser.
Now with Fitz adding another notch to the bedpost, audiences world-wide are beginning to take notice of one of the most talented, genuine actors to have come out of America in a very long time.
