A Quick Description

Just who are Soofad's SpecOps?

Soofad is a Talz male from Alzoc III. He was born a slave to the Empire (of which he learned all about from some loose-lipped Imperials) and stayed a slave until he was rescued by smugglers in exchange for help. The smugglers kept him and trained him to be both a pilot and a tech. Soofad eventually left to join the Rebel Alliance and put his piloting skills to use in an X-Wing. After being left off his squadron's pilot roster due to a computer error, he was given the chance to reevaluate his position in the Alliance. He decided that maybe he was overqualified, and, by pulling a few strings, he found himself in charge of one of the Rebellion's first real SpecOp teams. Soofad is the official leader of the group, as well as the pilot of the light freighter _Alzoc's Revenge_. He has learned some of the cockiness that most smugglers have, but overall he is still a nice guy. Soofad looks pretty much like any other Talz, except that he carries around a BlasTech DL-44 heavy blaster, as well as a toolbelt overflowing with all kinds of junk.

Terth-and-Ved Nayer Moran of Lorrd is a Lorrdian Human female from Lorrd. Her grandfather was a Jedi master who was killed during the Great Purge. Moran learned much from him before his death. After Master Trivan was murdered, Moran went into hiding with her older brother. Her brother, a slicer and something of a black nerf of the family, taught her all about his trade. Eventually she got older, went her own way, and ended up in Soofad's SpecOps. Moran is the unofficial second in command. She is the slicer of the group, as well as a competent tech and pilot. She has some formal Jedi training. Moran is the conscience of the group, and without question the most dedicated to the cause. She can be completely professional when the need arises, but she is not above flashing male Imperials a smile if it will help the mission. Moran is a naturally attractive woman with brown hair and piercing blue eyes. She is almost always dressed in greasy coveralls.

Croad Nuthis is an Ortolan male from Orto. He displayed incredible mathematical aptitude at an early age, and, by his mid-teens, landed a high administrative position in his planet's government. During a vacation to the Core Worlds (the result of a loophole in the Empire's restriction on off-planet travel by Ortolans), Croad saw first hand the xenophobic bias of the Empire and defected to the Alliance. Croad keeps track of the SpecOps' credits and supplies. Because of his experience in bureaucracy, he also "does the talking." His aim with a hold-out blaster is near-legendary. Croad is young and always seeking a good time, usually in the form of food and music. He is a pretty good Kloo horn player. He tends to get nervous when things go bad (an unfortunate character flaw for someone in his line of work). Croad likes to dye his velvety hide green, and he usually wears a small vest to keep his stuff in.

Hackra Lep is a Bith male from Bespin. Born soon after the Clone Wars to two immigrants from Clak'dor VII, Hackra was taught to love the Old Republic and everything it stood for. He learned equally from school and the sabacc tables of the Pair O' Dice. He was sent to some of the finest universities his parents could afford before he joined the Rebellion and put his considerable intelligence to good use. He ran a listening post in the Narmik system for several years before joining Soofad's SpecOps. Hackra has a good amount of knowledge of various sciences, and has proven to be a remarkable, if not brilliant, tactitian. Hackra is sarcastic, cynical, and not at all inhibited in speaking his mind. The Alliance is the only thing he truly believes in. He wears all black, like his favorite musician, Figrin D'an. Also like D'an he has a gambling habit.

Stump Hugelarge is an Amani male from an unknown planet. He was born off the Amani homeworld of Maridun to Amani slaves. As the years dragged by, Stump watched other slaves come and go, until the Alliance broke up the slaving ring. Forever grateful for his freedom, Stump begged to join the Rebellion. He eventually became a bodyguard for Croad Nuthis and followed him into Soofad's SpecOps. Stump is the security of the group. Many beings have regretted starting fights with him and his deadly wooden staff, and his redundant anatomy has pulled him through scrapes that would kill most other beings. Stump is "not quite right in the head." He is not crazy or stupid; he just suffers from a combination of total lack of formal education, little to no identity with his own people, naivete from being only recently introduced to the civilized galaxy, and maybe being just naturally kind of weird. "Stump Hugelarge" is a nickname given to him by the slavers that he continues to use because his real name is unknown. He does not behave much like a typical Amani. Stump is very protective of the other SpecOps, especially his best friend Croad. He is still getting used to the galaxy and is easily impressed. He tends to panic in situations beyond his control.

If you'll direct your eyes to the bottom of the page, you'll find a
link to a page of pictures of the SpecOps. These were all done by
Nigel Willis, aka Beedo Sookcool, since ol' Muftak can't draw to save
his grandmother. The pictures belong to Beedo, so ask him if you want
to use them. Of course, the characters they depict belong to me. Then
again, they exist in a universe owned by George Lucas . . . I could go
on all day.

Suggested Voice Talent

I know this is probably trend that's already out of style, but that
reason has never stopped me in the past (anybody who has seen me in
person would agree). Aside from Star Wars, I'm a cartoon addict.
Consequently, I've developed an appreciation for the fine art of voice
acting. I've seen "suggested voices talents" show up in comic books
before (most recently in a very cool issue of "Tales From the Vending
Machine" by my hero, Doug TenNapel), and I thought I'd jump on the
band wagon. So, here goes. Forgive me when I inevitably
misspell somebody's name.

Soofad . . . . . . . Jim Cummings
Moran of Lorrd . . . Kath Soucie
Croad Nuthis . . . . Rob Paulsen
Hackra Lep . . . . . Maurice LaMarche
Stump HugeLarge . . Dan Castellaneta
Sareth Rut . . . . . Cree Summer
Ziph-Yikrin . . . . Kevin Smith
Bughead . . . . . . John Cleese

But wait, there's more!
