Mrs. Castro's Class Quilt

Samantha attends Holy Family Catholic School where she is in the second grade in Mrs. Castro's class. The school is going to have a fund raiser on November 16, 2002. The name of the fund raiser is "Denim and Dice". Each class in the school was asked to create something to be auctioned off during the fund raiser. Samantha's class made a quilt. The mothers who helped with the project traced cowboy boots onto fabric squares and then took them into the classroom where each child colored a boot. Then, we heat-set them (if you have ever had a crayon go through the dryer, you know that once it is heat-set, it never comes out!) and sewed them into a quilt. Then, Tana machine quilted it. This evening, she lay it out on the bed and took a picture of it to remember all the hard work that went into it. Hopefully, it will sell at the auction for a lot of money!!!!

Of course, since Tana lay the quilt out on the bed for her work to be admired. Christopher came and asked for it to be moved so that his Daddy could read to him in the "big bed". Poor Stephen, didn't have time to finish making all of his football picks after getting the kids to bed but before heading back to work for this evening. (Don't you just love how neat and tidy our computer room is??)
