"Achtung! this is Oberleutnant Lone Wolf. Whilst the war is over there shall be an extra Frame with just B17's, no escorts! Kill Them! Kill Them all!!" KdF prepares to bring instant death and destruction.
This is not looking good. These 17's have had their toughness turned up to 'fill full of lead with no effect' level. The Gunners in the 17's have had their lethality pumped up by 50%. The LW gets squat of course. Still like demons KdF falls on the 17's and the effects of the enemy bullets are ignored, as per orders.
Tracer starts flying in all directions as KdF closes in.Alyhough it at first looks like it, that fighter attacking the 17's from below hasnt been hit... the reason hes smoking is that he's just pumped 50% of his ammo into the 17 and is fuming.
OK, now here we are from a different direction. The shoot down is just about to happen. wait for it...
The 17 loses the use of its outer engine as it starts to brew up. The Pilot starts to consider ordering a bail when a round pierces the fuel tanks and blows it into smithereens. KdF and crew (whats left of them) go away happy. This Frame was a lot of fun. The 17's were realistically tough and didnt blow up at the slightest provocation. It was a real challenge to take them down and i believe they suffered roughly the same percentage of losses as the real event over Schweinfurt. A fun ending to an excellent scenario.
