SPRING
NOTE: This line is a dead end for me. Does anyone have any information on them?
WILLIAM D. SPRING was born about 1796 in Camden, Knox Co., ME. and died on 16 Dec 1877 in Burnham, Waldo Co., ME.
He married SOPHIA BARROWS before 1820. Sophia's birthplace is listed as "unknown" on the death Certificate of her daughter, Nancy.[1] Using the age ranges from the 1820 and 1830 Census for Sophia the year of her birth can be placed between 1800 and 1804.[4][5]
William appears to be the same individual who is listed as "Willard Spring" on the 1820 Census of Burnham (25 Mile Pond Plantation), Waldo Co. Living with him were a daughter? under the age of 10, a woman aged 16-26 - Sophia his wife, and a woman over the age of 45 years - possibly the mother of either William or Sophia.[4]
In 1830 he appears on the Census as William D. Spring. Two daughters have been added to the family, both between the ages of 5 and 10., and the older daughter now aged between 10 to 15 years. Sophia is now between 26 and 30 years of age. Finally the older female, presumed to be the mother of either William or Sophia is now between 70 and 80 years old which narrows her age quite a bit.[5]
Also in Burnham in 1830 was Thomas Spring, the head of the house hold, aged 15-20. A female aged 15-20 - wife?, sister?, and an older woman aged 60 - 70 years. again probably the mother of one or both of the younger members of the household.[5]

1. NANCY S. SPRING was born on 23 Apr 1826 in Burnham, Waldo Co., ME, and died on 26 May 1892 in Burnham. She married GERSHOM TWITCHELL about 1847 in Burnham. He was born on 17 Jun 1826 in Belfast, Waldo Co., ME and died on 08 Apr 1896 in Burnham. He was the son of JOSIAH TWITCHELL and MARY SIDENSPARKER.
