SARAH PRATT on 3 Dec 1717 in Sherborn, Middlesex Co., MA.(72), she b. 7 Nov 1693 in Sherborn, Middlesex Co., MA., baptized on 7 Apr 1754 and d. 29 Jan 1774 in Sherborn.(73). Sarah was the daughter of EBENEZER  PRATT and MARY FLAGG

[Death date taken from Lee Twitchell records] Gershom was received into the church at Sherborn in 1748. He married (1) HANNAH SAWIN in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. Hannah SAWIN died on 16 Apr 1777 in Watertown, MA. (183) She was the daughter of John SAWIN and ELIZABETH COOLIDGE.  Gershom Twitchell Sr. married (2) Priscilla Holt on 2 Oct 1779 in Dublin, Cheshire, NH.

She married William Yeardly in Dublin, Cheshire, NH. William b. 1752 in England, d. 23 Jun 1805 Dublin, Cheshire, NH. (376) Came to Dublin NH in 1776.

3. Stephen Twitchell, b. 25 Jun 1753 Sherborn, Middlesex Co., MA. (377), d. 12 Sep 1845 in Windham, Windham Co., VT. (298) Stephen m. Lucy Norcross 22 May 1779 in Dublin, Cheshire Co., NH. She was b. between 1755 and 1765. The Twitchell Genealogy states Stephen and family moved to New York sometime after 1789 but Stephen is found on the 1790 Census of Cheshire, NH and there is no Stephen Twitchell found on the 1800 and 1810 U.S.. Census of New York. There is however a Stephen Twitchell on the 1797 Census of Andover, Windham Co., VT. and again on the 1800 and 1810 U.S. Census of Andover. A comparison of the ages of the children on the 1800 census with the known ages of Stephen's children shows enough similarity to make it almost certain that this was Stephen, the son of Gershom. Also on the 1800 Census of Andover were Stephen's younger brother Sawin and his nephew Luther Twitchell, the son of Gershom Jr.

8.     Sawin Twitchell, b. 6 Oct 1769 in Sherborn, Middlesex Co., MA. (381) He died on 18 Apr 1837 in Pulaski, Oswego Co., NY. (183), and was buried in City Cemetery, Pulaski, Oswego, NY. Sawin married (1) Prudence Drury who d. 13 Jun 1798 Andover, Vt?. Sawin is found in Andover (1800) along with his brother Stephen and nephew Sawin Twitchell and their families. Sawin is also listed on the census with a female child that might be a daughter by/of the first wife or possibly a child of his second wife brought to the marriage. This daughter is listed under his first wife. The 1820 Richland, Oswego, NY census lists a Sawin Twichel.

CHILD OF SAWIN AND PRUDENCE:

       Sawin Twitchell married (2) Mary Bailey at some point after 1798. She was born 1 Mar 1780 in Litchfield, Sharon Co., CT. (183), and died on 14 Sep 1847 in Peoria, Peoria Co., IL.(183) Mary died at the home of her daughter in Peoria (could have been Hannah, Dorcas or Mary Almira), and was buried in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, IL.
