Well I started out my early years in music listening to my brother's records. Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Fabian......etc. During late 1963 we began hearing of a new group, from England. They were called the Beatles. Whoever heard of such a name? They were to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb. 9, 1964. Well we just had to see this. We gathered at some friends house to watch the show. I was 9 years old. When they came on, they were the strangest looking group we had ever seen. They're hair was so long. Our parents all thought they were disgraceful! As soon as they started their first song, I was hooked. That night, the names John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr were written down in history forever. Who was to know then that these four guys would actually change the whole world. Well that's exactly what they did! They began a new chapter in the history of music. They began what is now called the British Invasion.

I can remember going to the A&P Grocery Store and buying my first Beatles album, Meet The Beatles for 1.99. I got screamed at a lot because of that album....haha! Along with various threats to my record player and my body! But we survived. If only my parents knew what was to come.
After a while I decided I wanted to play drums. I signed up in school and I was on my way. Since those days I also took up guitar, but I'll tell you about that a little later.
Anyway the four lads from Liverpool dominated the airwaves throughout the sixties. Always changing and evolving. Bringing us new and exciting sounds with every record. I don't know which one got louder, their records or our parents....haha! To me they will always be the greatest band of all time! Those truly were the good old days.
Below is a picture of them on their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Seems like only yesterday!
The Beatles gave us 13 albums, several movies and brought in a new era of rock & roll. After much tension in the group professionally and publicly, Paul McCartney filed suit against Allen Klein and the other three Beatles on December 31, 1970, asking that The Beatles and Co. be legally dissolved and with that, the Beatles were no more.
